Group A

"Quote" Zohaib Shera's hat-trick in National Bank of Pakistan's second innings continued Karachi Whites' dominance on the third day in Karachi. The day began with Afsar Nawaz batting on to an unbeaten 121 and Babar Rehman falling two short of his century as Karachi Whites finished on a massive 486. Then came a manic burst with the new ball from Shera who, after Babar Rehman snared an early wicket, rocked NBP with the wickets of Nasir Jamshed, Imran Javed and Naumanullah with the score on 9. From the depths of 9 for 4, NBP were resuscitated back into a semblance of respectability thanks to an unbeaten 178-ball 70 from Mansoor Amjad and 49 from Amin-ur-Rehman. At stumps NBP were 184 for 8, with Karachi Whites two wickets from their third victory. "Unquote"

According to Sikandar Bakht on Indus News that Zohaib Shera is 18 years old left arm fast medium. He is the second first class player in Pakistan’s history who has made a record of hat-trick in his debut match. Previous record was made in 1957 against the East Pakistan vs Dhaka University by Arshad Khan who played in East Pakistan Team. Zohaib Shera is the 15th first class cricketer in the world who has made a hat-trick in his debut match.

He didn't play FC cricket since Nov 2010, don't know why, but looks like he made a comeback...

decent action and pace definitely more than 130s I say. Mid 120s batsmen would have got more time to handle the swing, but you never know, videos can be deceiving

The shapre he is getting is beautiful , haven't seen any pakistan getting this kind of swing recently.

Shape is similar to Steyn's outswinger, which is good to see. Nice action as well. Now if he can just get it to go the other way.

May be a shorter version of Sadaf.

But that would be some fun, Kami shouting ''Shera, kila thok day su'' :p

Looks like there is nice amount of grass cover on the wicket which is good to see.

Nice action

Another leftie to look out for

They just grew after your ranting post mate :) in the other thread :) about Pakistan not having sporting pitches :)

atleast now you and I can share a smile about it eh? :)

Trundler.

My god our batsmen are so weak, honestly who trains these players?

It has become so convenient to label any upcoming bowler a trundler because he doesn't throw fireballs at 150 kph.

Do you realize many of all time great bowlers weren't exactly pace merchants? speed is a great asset but it isn't the only thing that makes a bowler.

Trundler has become a fashionable word and 99% of people who use it have no clue what it really means. They just see others use and follow it sheepishly just to look cool and knowledgeable.

You are assuming I know nothing about cricket when you know nothing about me.

I am a battle hardened opening batsmen.

That man is a trundler, I will eat him for lunch.

Poor pace and poor technique.

The batsmen in these clips are even worse, all over the place with their technique. Poor shot selection and feet movement.

This is why we must professionalize our domestic cricket asap with a proper barometer of what constitutes a good cricket player.

At the moment average players are being picked and because of politics average players are being picked for the national team.

Unless we radically change at grass roots, remove politics and favoritism, quality players will never shine through.

Oh really? Since you are a battle hardened opening batsman, when are we seeing you debut for Pakistan? Which team do you play for? What is your FC record? Or do you open for your mohalay ki team on cement pitch with bricks as wickets and a taped ball and resort to your other part time job at this time, a keyboard warrior and arm chair critic package.

Zohaib Shera

Politics, favoritism, sifaarish etc are very convenient excuses to make. You can't hide a Bradman or a Marshall due to politics for long.

What the hell is the batsmen doing in this video?

I rest my case.

I've played club cricket for years as left handed top order batsman. I knowa thing or two about batting. You are right, that guy batting in the video is a disgrace but you cannot downplay the bowler just because the batsman is clueless. He gets good shape and swing.

We need to see how he does against better batsman before labeling him as trundler.

Any updates on this guy TalentSpotterPk his FC record looks decent only played one List A match though.

Know him from his school days, used to play tape ball with him. Was my senior in School, & my nxt door neighbor too.
Great to see him do well in FC. Very passionate about cricket. His nick name is Fooji. Not many know his real name in our area

how many more six wicket hauls he will take ???
