Looks like the new India is trying hard to create its own version of science.

Not for the first time, Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi was trolled on Twitter for her comments. This time, Ms. Bedi, a popular figure on Twitter with more than 11 million followers, shared a doctored clip that claimed: “NASA recorded sound of sun —— Sun chants Om.”

Twitter users, who lost no time debunking the video as fake, had a field day with all sorts of hilarious memes and comments.

Soon after her tweet, the former IPS officer was trolled for posting a fake video. “It shall be the duty of every citizen of India to develop scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform,” tweeted a user.

“Is this actually what the Lt Governor of a UT believes in????. As a role model need to be careful what is tweeted!!!,” said another user.

A clipping from the movie Koi Mil Gaya in which Hrithik Roshan is shown communicating with aliens using peculiar sounds, was used to poke fun at her tweet. The post got 9.7K retweets and 31.4K likes, and as many as 1 million views as of 10.20 p.m. IST on January 4.

As the video went viral, several people posted the original video by NASA which said the Sun was not silent.

When called out for spreading fake news, she said “ Even if it is fake, it is worth listening to”. Holy cow sh1t.

What I find hilarious is that their fans will come and defend using the same logic that Kiran Bedi used...."what if the video is incorrect/fake etc., look at xyz"....just saw it happen in the IK thread too

So, no.

I am not going to look at xyz or rst if the information that you shared was false.

And ma'am needs to apologize for sharing false information, and not direct me to focus my energy on some underlying message that only she can see.

I dont understand the lengths people will go to attempt to justify their religion. Surely if you resort to lies to justify your religion then there is something wrong with your level of faith?

This lady fell for the trap here but I remember in my childhood there were all sorts of theories about how Neil Armstrong heard the quran being recited on the moon. I guess hindu and muslim zealots equally enjoy telling lies about space.

Not surprising to note when their ring leader himself is illiterate of the highest order, with only fake degrees to show in the name of him being educated...

This lady has gone complete nuts ever since she joined sanghi bandwagon...She was our first lady IPS officer and did so much as Tihar DG. Alas, all of that is left way behind now....

This reminds me a bit of some weird mullahs who say Niel Armstrong heard azan on the moon. But they’re random street mullahs not part of governemr

We are fed up because of one Fawad Chaudhry while our neighbours are blessed with hundreds of Fawad Chaudhrys not only in their government but also in their law and order institutions.
