“Pakistan bowlers were saying something on every ball, making personal attacks, so I feel I needed to give them this answer”: Abhishek Sharma

Sometimes weird things happens and it may breakdown any sportsmen. Mcgrath gave bs to sarwan in 2004 test.sarwan unwittingly involved Mcgrath's wife in his abuse and Mcgrath went mad/tears as no one else knows about her terminal condition. Its better to keep sledge for once or twice not for every ball or over.
That’s why you need to have a thick skin if you are an elite sportsman. McGrath was a crybaby who could dish it but couldn’t take it.

These things are going to happen. If you are a champion player, you won’t let them affect your performance

Lol relax. No one is asking you to stop posting altogether. But you guys are still going on and on against Abhishek for a simple run of the mill statement and abusing him left right and centre. And I'm not just talking about this forum...even on SM, Pakistanis are still abusing Abhi just because he owned you guys on and off the field. It's pretty childish and sore loser like mentality.
What is the definition of “on and on”? Indians are also posting and responding to the thread with the same frequency- what does that mean? It’s just a discussion.

Where is the abuse? If you are truly interested in what Pakistanis are saying, you would know that most are praising his innings. I’ve hardly seen any abuse.

So yeah, no one is crying about it. Dissecting or discussing a match is common practice. If Pakistanis are giving it back to Indians who are needling them, that’s not called crying.

All the famous bullies are crybabies only. Ganguly, waugh, flintoff, hayden ,symonds etc never liked the response. they can never take it back.

Some, not all… but point is, you can’t control what others say. Important is that you let your performance do the talking which is what Abhishek did.

This guy reminds me of my younger self, both in looks and temperament. Hopefully he will mature with time and learn to ignore the outside noise.

Lol, is this aggression from Pakistan even real or borrowed from Naqvi’s outrage and that mental conditioning coach? Real aggression comes from performance on the field.

Sledging while losing os mo re like whining.
A nation full of idiots and cry babies 🇮🇳.

Maybe this Abishek guy is too young to understand things off the pitch but this is what you get.
he gave answers on th pitch since Pakistanis had no answer to his batting they started talky

Sledging is sledging; while losing or winning.

When the sledges started, India had only begun their innings. There no clear indicator of who was going to win.

In fact, Farhan and Pandya got into it. Who was losing at that time?

When you come out on the winning side, you can say senseless stuff like this. Fact is, sledging is part of the game. Looks great if you end up winning - not so much when you don’t.

As always, their players are useless at results, but, as per them, good at things that cannot be measured or audited - personality. :))
It was first jazba and junoon. Then some "talent" which no one could see in performance. Now it's personality. Or better at sledging. Always thinks they can claim without backing up in results or numbers. Next will be "aura"

Sledging only works when you win. You seem like a boss then. Steve waugh was an expert in it

When you lose it just seems funny and sad

We’re talking about how Indians are politicising everything, you’ve taken things off the pitch which is fine atm because you’re winning games. Imagine you lose and you receive this type of abuse from Haris Rauf and co. Your countrymen would combust on the spot and you’d be crying.

Everyone is becoming tired of the behaviour of your compatriots. Someone like Abishek seems like a nice young lad and probably doesn’t deserve it but it’s the consequences of parroting or towing the government line. It’s not difficult even though it’s been explained to you numerous times.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed this sledging. Reminded me of what an India Pakistan match used to feel like. Of course if the same sledging happened minus the conflict in May - no one would have blinked an eye. But in the hyper charged political environment between these two countries every little on and off field event gets amplified.

When Kohli was there it felt like some Pakistani players were in awe of him to even think of challenging him and Kohli was also very friendly towards Pakistani players off the field. Of course, Kohli's reputation was built on the back of several match winning knocks against Pakistan. In the 80's/90's I felt like Indian players had that awe towards Pakistani players - you can look at any random videos of Sanjay Manjrekar or Navjot Sidhu talking about Imran Khan etc.,

There's no reason for any Pakistani players to be nice to the current batch of Indian players. Let them earn their respect through their performances - same with Pakistani players vis-a-vis Indian players. Even if both sets of players want to respect each other - and that could be their natural inclination - the public backlash or pressure might prevent them from doing so.

If Abhishek got sledged - he handled it with aplomb on the field by decimating the attack and winning the man of the match. Ultimately that's the best response.

On the surface it looked like no one backed down as far as sledging is concerned. The more important thing is of course winning the actual match which India did.

But I loved this aggression from Pakistan. There was certainly fire from Rauf and he bowled well and ended up being the best pace bowler on the day from both teams.

All things said and done - it was good to watch some verbal fireworks.

Part is sledging when losi makes you look like sore losers.

At last some aggression from our meek and pathetic bowlers. Let's see it every time. They want to bury you alive and you want to shake hands with them- where is your ghairat

And….?! Your point!!?

Let Pakistan players be as they want, whats your issue

No Pakistani has anything bad to say about Kohli whatsoever… we laud him more than the fake so called Baber king..

The new guys in the Ind team are not fit to tie Kohlis laces…
