For me:
Viv
Sachin
Pollock
McGrath
Kohli
Wasim
Garner
Donald
ABdV
Ponting
Murali
Bevan
Dhoni
Gilly
Kapil
Don’t read too much into order, could change very easily
Wasim should be at 2. Pollock a little too high. He should be behind McGrath, Wasim and Garner.
Good to see an Australian putting ABDV higher than Ponting. I am glad![]()
Cant just post a list and not put any justification for each name.
Pollock selected as ARGood to see kapil dev (the only allrounder).
As an odi allrounder Kapil was in a different league to khan, hadlee, botham.
Just out of interest, why do people put Wasim ahead of McGrath
McGrath?Bhaijaan's Top 15 cricketers who ever played ODI Cricket :-
1. Sachin Tendulkar
2. Virat Kohli
3. Allan Donald
4. Viv Richards
5. Hitman
6. MS Dhoni
7. Waqar Younis
8. Shane Warne
9. Ricky Ponting
10. Brett Lee
11. Yuvraj Singh
12. Mitchell Starc
13. Kapil Dev
14. Shaun Pollock
15. Shane Bond
But despite the skills he wasn’t more successful, in fact he was less soReverse swing, variety, yorkers. McGrath would obviously rate higher at test cricket and overall.
McGrath?
Just out of interest, why do people put Wasim ahead of McGrath
He's at #16, just a couple of places below Shaun Pollock and ahead of Mohammad Shami (in ODIs).
Allan Donald was an untameable beast. Have never seen a bowler quicker than him off the pitch. Skill wise a complete fast bowler. Very dominant.
But despite the skills he wasn’t more successful, in fact he was less so
McGrath has just as good longevity.Skill-sets, 1992 WC final, longevity. He had it all. Very exciting to watch.
That's debatable. Most would consider Wasim the better white ball bowler considering he bowled for most of his career in Asia.
Statistically, McGrath has a better strike rate, while the economy rate is practically identical. I'm sure if McGrath played more ODI cricket on some of those flat pitches in Sharjah or the sub-continent, his record would have suffered in comparison.
At the end of the day though, it's not statistics. It's the ineffable nature of the memories that people associate with Wasim Akram, McGrath was relatively meh by contrast.
Just out of interest, why do people put Wasim ahead of McGrath
That top batsmen comment is just wrong, McGrath has an incredibly high proportion of top order wicketsWasim is regarded highly for his outrageous talent with the ball. He presented top batsmen with a challenges more in terms of variety than McGrath did.
That is countered but the fact that McGrath played in a harder era. Plus, Aus pitches have been roads for ages
Taking aesthetics out of it, do u believe that Wasim was more effective
Hahahahahahah
McGrath >>>>>>> Lee
Why don’t you rate McGrath, what didn’t he accomplish
Mcgrath is GOAT.That top batsmen comment is just wrong, McGrath has an incredibly high proportion of top order wickets
McGrath has just as good longevity.
What does skill set and exciting to watch have to do with effectiveness, Mcgrsth has a much better record
Mcgrath is GOAT.
He had a mental edge over everyone and his record against great players is better than wasim, bhaijaan doesn't like robotic players thats why he doesn't rate mcgrath that highly
