I’m wearing all black today. At breakfast, my eldest asked me if I was supporting New Zealand. I had to explain it was in opposition to the Humsaya Mulk rather than in support of the Kiwis.

I am wearing all black too. Nothing to do with the OP.

Happy Independence day to all Indians.

Not a fan of these days. The celebrations are stupid and the protests even more.

Frustrations from Pakistan side - nothing more - PM Modi wont be losing any sleep on this.

na, the initiative was a good one.

The fault is in us.

We are just not patriotic. Yes we celebrate 14 august but we only do it as its the only entertainment we have.

India has one thing which is also good and bad and that is there blind patriotism. Remember that snapchat controversy. Every Indian tried to delete that app.

We Pakistani's on the other hand would be watching sacred games season 2 tonight.

The purpose of black day or the red facebook image was to send out a message world wide and that other people also picked on it. And it does create awareness, like how the ALS Ice challenge created awareness.

Thing is, we are not a patriotic bunch. Indians are educated about Gandhi and his bhook hartal or his Salt boycott which is why they can get easily be asked to boycot products or things which are anti-indian.

We have shown Gandhi as a negative in our text books. Instead of using such personalities to educate the masses we have shown them in negative. THan after 70 years we try to promote boycotts or awareness campaigns but then we realize that these is no support for it. Why? Because your education type plays a major part.

Even i didn't put a red facebook DP, but thats my own fault because im not that patriotic. But if we were a patriotic bunch, we could had send out a message. We could had shown the world that what is happening is wrong.

Hong Kong people are freaken standing up against the Chinese and its all over the news.

Pakistanis are extremely patriotic, esp abroad.
The only reason boycott doesn't matter as much is coz the number, India’s middle class is equivalent to size of USA population, many buy something or the other from corporates around the world.

India and Pak don’t trade much for it to make a difference.
The situation is about the number thats it.

Pakistani's are patriotic, but they dont follow blind patriotism.

Indians never critisize their leaders on public forums they back them no matter what. They respect the leader of there nation.

We on the other hand openly abused our leaders, start chain msgs(zardari lol) and even try to throw shoes at them.

Pakistani's are patriotic but not as much as Indians

Hmm, leader as in PM of the country? Yes but its more about respecting the post as such.

Indians mock leaders too , Rahul, Rajiv ,Sonia.
Yogi ,Mayawati etc as well.

Also in a decent comedic way many Indians mock modi as well , there are various TVF videos on the same, check out Ranveer wed Deepika TVf there is mocking of Modi and Yogi not abuse but good old humor kind.

Abuse is never a way to put your point forward coz the post of PM has to be respected.

I have to agree with you to a certain extent. Indians will not talk bad about their government to outsiders, but they will criticize their government among themselves. Also most Indians don't care about central government, their main focus is on the state government.

Also majority of Indians are not emotionally involved in Kashmir issue, for them it's something that's happening somewhere far away that they watch on TV. But for a few crazies, Indians tend to keep religion and politics to themselves. I don't thing Indian families sit and talk about Kashmir issue at home, that's why most of them will be oblivious to whats happening there.
