Umpires has been on Australian side all this match. Unlucky WI, even 3rd umpire isnt fair. But this was fair decision.
 
30 minutes left going by lights, can they get 40 runs? They will have to up the rate to 6+.
 
Bishoo has been junk. I like him but lots to learn.
 
Deonaraine was the one to look out for actually...

he's done pretty well in his last outings (in domestic)

6/71 and 7/26 in single innings in his last two tests.

and as I write this, he gets tonked for a maximum.
 
Hussey is cool as ice out there dont know what the fuss is all about deonarine
 
Man Windies have turned in to Pakistan with their shocking OTT slow mo reactions. That's the reason I dislike Sammy.
 
Only WI could have lost this match from that position. Maybe next time they shouldnt bother to declare unless they score 600+, even then they should think hard.
 
light will come into play between Aussies victory otherwise looks like a piece of cake. Draw is out of the equation me thinks.
 
Using floodlights should be mandatory in West Indies, considering the amount lost to bad light.
 
A Draw right now would be a mockery of this beautiful game, please no draw.
 
Tony Cozier cannot take this torture anymore. The guy will go nuts pretty soon and murder some of these Windies players.

Sammy is celebrating like he is at the brink of victory, pathetic.
 
That is why you need to be balanced. Agressive or defensive depends on the nature of the game. It is stupid just to stay in one mode. In Misbah's case, always defensive

Australia thoroughly deserved to win this one. I hope WI keeps the spirit high and the next match is as close as this one.
 
Sammy's captaincy is still questionable, why persist with deonarine when Hussey is striking cleanly? where fine leg & close in fielders during 2,3 runs to chase? Oh Sammy all you can do now is prepare for a speech at the ceremony.

Horrible batting by him. Couple that with his pathetic strategy and dropping dollies.....

Whats the purpose of having him as captain? Its like India making Ravi Jadeja as captain who is good at nothing, but plays every game :))
 
WI are still missing the killer instinct.

Australia are finding it trickier to win in WI these days for which WI do deserve the credit, but they shouldn't have forced themselves into this position after posting 449 in the first inning.

They had Aussies on the ropes for most of the test - except for about three sessions.

Knowing Australia, you're sure they'll come harder in the next match. Who knows? An innings defeat for the Windies might be up next...

I hope the Windies try harder and not lose hope though...
 
Just proves that you can still lose a test match despite scoring almost 450 in the first innings (if you are careless). Windies dominated the game for 3.5 days but one bad session or more precisely their failure to dislodge the last Australian pair yesterday has effectively cost them the match

Pakistan lost respect and fans with what they did against England in that infamous Test. I feel the same way I felt then.

They took 7 wkts., not attacking after Clarke's wkt. was strange. Even India's loser captain will do better. (Loser because of his safety first approach over a win)

Plus the inability to bat well in both innings of a Test. :facepalm:

Similar deal vs India at Sabina Park last year. Yes, Darren Sammy did that horrendous dolly drop off Dravid, who then went on to score 112 and that was bad (Sammy said he'd had nightmares over it). But WI should still have won in spite of that: we truly lost the match by folding for 173 in the first innings. :facepalm:
 
all credit goes to captain ... his aggressiveness ... positiveness....his determination of winning a test match

he declared on deficit of 40 odd runs ... just to win the test match .... this is called captaincy with big heart ...

Coward captain go for draw.... super captain go for kill.... thats separate them from others

super captaincy ... hats off .. lead like a lion and automatically players responded with big heart as well

yeah ... because ...at least captain has shown some intent of winning a test match from no where .... thats what needed ..bravery...courage

let me tell you ..... when clarke opted for declaration on deficit ... this shows his intent of winning a match and go for kill ..... and this approach shaken the confidence of west indies ....

otherwise ... any other ordinary captain ..would have stayed with their 10th an 11th batsman to score as may as they could ..they were well set .... but he didnt waste time ...

in simple words...he saw the blink of an oppurtunity and he grabbed it

Any decent team would have blown Australia out of the water on day 4. Oh windies....

windies still have a lot to do to win. well they are atleast getting into these positions rather than getting swept away for fun all the time.

Any other country and this would be one of their most incredible wins...Australia? no big deal. Well done Clark and co. WI shouldn't lose hope though, they competed well through-out and have already done much better than the last series in the Caribbean vs. the Oz's

Completely agree. That is why I dislike India's current 'cool' captain.
I prefer an 'arrogant' Ganguly over him any day.

You will never credit Indian bowlers if they do this. It is the 'Indian cricketing culture',praise the batters no matter what. remember it nearly happened at Wankhede last Nov.

I remember that draw game, we should have won that game!
