My 20 most talented batsmen of the last 50 years in order of merit - Assessing only natural ability and not overall class .
=Brian Lara/Rohan Kanhai- Lara and Kanhai simply took creative genius to sublimical proportions. Both composed strokes of their very own.A Kanhai falling hook stroke and a Lara whip shot is worth preserving in a museum.
.Viv Richards-Simply took domination to mythical proportions, with the best eye ever, as though striking a football. No none was more unbowlable.
.David Gowerl-Like a modern day Ranjitsinghji, treating even the most lethal deliveries like a mother putting a child to sleep. Strokes were a manifestation of the divine.
.Barry Richards/Sachin Tendulkar- Barry Richards and Tendulkar blended clinician precision and inventiveness like no other batsmen.
=.Majid Khan/Gundappa Vishwanath- Majid and Vishy were masters on bad wickets who could execute strokes that were surreal. A Majid Khan hook shot or a Vishy late cut was like the touches of painter Rembrandt 's brush.
.AB Devilliers- Noone looked more like circus acrobat when batting or magician performing tricks.
.Steve Smith-.Even with an unorthodox stand looks more in command than anybody ,resembling an emperor when batting as none else in his era.
.Mark Waugh-Mark Waugh possessed a simply magical touch which could bisect the most impenetrable gaps. A master on the onside.
.Martin Crowe- Effortlessness and composure personified who played Wasim and Waqar ,better than even Sachin and Lara.
.Virendra Sehwag- More inventive than even Sachin, like a Viv Richards of his time. Literally composed strokes from his own book in the square region.
.Kevin Pieterson- Pieterson could on his day be as destructive as Viv Richards against genuine pace. Took apart bowling in Australia and India like few batsmen ever
.Rohit Sharma -A more refined form of Sehwag, adding an element of finesse. No opener as destructive in modern times.
.Greg Chappell- An epitome of perfection and elegance, who took domination to magical realms.
.Virat Kohli-He could place a ball with unbelievable skill ,and hold bat like a tennis racket.
=.Inzamam Ul Haq/Javed Miandad- Inzamam had the best reflexes in his time, punishing even the most lightning pace ,with remorseless ease. Miandad could manipulate a cricket ball to pierce gap as very few, executing the pull stroke with touches of genius.
.VVS Laxman-Artistry personified,in the Vishwanath mould. Few batsmen ever tackled great pace with such flair ,could so artistically bisect a field or play as many gems.
