2015 World Cup Result | India beat West Indies by 4 wickets in a low scoring game

I wanted WI to win here but looking not so good now. There was some chance for us to finish first and play BD or Eng.

Mohit Sharma has an ugly runup and a pure trundler, it baffles me how the hell can he bowl maiden overs and pick up wickets? He is a perfect definition of a Trundler!

Their bowling attack is not as bad as we might suggest but its still ordinary.
The problem with ICC events we get a lot of flat or slow batting decks. With this it brings their batsmen into play and thus makes them a dangerous side.
Their spinners come into fruition as well, but batting is their main strength.
We saw this in England as well were there was a lot os spin in the wickets. In bilaterals pitches are prepared by curators to suit the home teams needs hence they don't do well.
If you play stupid shots like the Windies have today they'll pick you apart though.
 
India's batting has looked good so far but that's because their top order has performed well. However, if they are to loose let's say 3 wickets in first 15 overs (can happen against strong bowling unit) then I think they will be deep S*it.. Their batting is not deep like OZ so they won't be recover. Same goes for other teams except OZ and NZ although I would say NZ will probably choke as well..
 
Will Dhoni go McCallum's way and bring back Shami and Umesh?
 
This breed of Indian ast bowlers are all very good fielders. Quite a change from Nehra/Zaheer and Munaf days.

Nah, in Tests - It's SA. In ODI, it's Aus. In T-20 - I don't know.

You guys dropped to many catches literally.
I think 5 or 6 before the 40th/powerplay overs.
That provided a platform for hacks like Sammy and Russel to slog at will. Especially that Russel he can be very dangerous when he cuts loose

aussies batsman too dnt have atg batsman in odi as well..they too are hit and miss hecks..you get warner and you are in driving seat

Pakistan is quite similar to current West Indies team. If anything, WI have more X-factor.

Once Amir returns, Pakistan will be back being a decent side.

Big win for India will put WI behind in run rate. If It comes to run rate then it will help Pakistan. If WI wins this game then it's not going to help Pakistan.
 
This is the same wicket Aus hit 400 a few days ago... WI cricket... :facepalm:

No once is saying they have any ATG batter.. But their batting is very deep.. All the way till 9 really. So chances are they can recover even after loosing few early wickets as they have done before. What happened against NZ is not really typical of OZ. Normally at least one or two of batsmen will save the show. I can't say the same for India
 
Wonder if WI will make as much as UAE did.

well your opinion but in tests we were able to take 20 wickets in only one match in lords and we won that out of all overseas test matches.....we have scored runs in south africa,australia,new zealand,england( except last 2 test matches) everywhere....

well we have too till 8th n.o....ashwin bats there who is proper all roumder and even shami and mohit can bat at 9 and 10.....warner is the diference between 2 sides ....
 
We lost to WI becuase we dropped to many catches. Plain and simple.

They would have made 200-230 at best had we held on.
 
India dropped as many catches as Pak did against WI

Who knows if Russel and Sami can hit some lusty blows and take WI to a decent total. Anything can happen.

Maybe the pitch metamorphosed and the WI bowlers will turn into Garner, Roberts, Holding Marshall...but I doubt it.

Pakistan is just on par with WI these days.. Their bowling is thankfully better and they have Misbah..otherwise, same story

I agree with you in tests.
However in ODi's teams are more dependent on conditions except for us. In Asia India will wipe the flaw against everyone. We might come 2nd which shows our versatility.
In quick conditions we are on par with Australia, the difference is they bat deep. However batting deep does not necessitate superiority. Our top order is better than theirs while they have a better lower order than us.
We have a 7-4 side now with JP to come @7 it remains to be seen how that affects the ballance of the side against the apex teams as our bowling is slightly weakened but our batting significantly strengthened.
 
Dhoni on attack here. Got Yadav back. WI needs to not do anything foolish and simply bat overs.
