I don't think it's pressure that is the issue per se - it's self-pressure, false pressure created by having a huge head and thinking your wicket is the most important thing in the universe. I've seen this before from Sangakkara, he has an inflated opinion of his wicket's worth following runs of good form. Whereas normally he, like any other player, takes his cues from the game and what the ball is doing. He clearly doesn't have a problem with pressure, when it is applied by the opposition. He has a problem with his ego.

Maybe he got too cautious after the initial plays and misses. And it was all well till Thirimanne was maintaining the rate. 35/2 after 10 overs was decent.

After that, he should have taken the responsibility rather than leaving it to the guy coming in. It is not easy to straight away get going for the new batsman and the low SR just puts on additional pressure making them do stupid things.

Atleast Misbah targets the weaker bowlers from time to time.
