Worldcup second half spinning tracks makes India the most dangerous side and ultimate hot favourite to lift the Worldcup. With two quality spinners on Indian lineup and any score can be defendable with amount of spin we are seeing in second half of the matches. If India has to be knocked out of this World cup the opponent team must have a luck on their side big times. Bat first , put decent score and then use their spinners to take juice off of the chase. Toss will be very important for knockout matches.

However for things not looking good for Aus, NZ, Eng, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

Finals and semis are usually played on new pitches instead of using a used pitch.

From semis the tracks will be new/fresh. May still turn but not as much as we see atm. The weather is unlikely to continue at this heat being England. Today felt like being in Pakistan in the summer.

From the semis the pitches will be new due to Eng's loss to pak in 2017.

What has happened to the pitches ?

The ball is gripping and turning square at times.
Such a big change from the 350 tracks that we have seen recently.
Huge advantage for teams batting first.
Think the pitches are turning a bit too much for my liking .
Pakistan probably needed a proper accurate spinner in the squad and they would have been set.

Its good, if these are flat decks and someone makes 350 good luck us winning the game.

Huge advantage batting first.

Apparently there will be a heat wave for the next week in the UK.

Means it will only get worse!

I think the ODI series with Pakistan and England , after seeing Pakistan even score 300+ with such regularity the ICC realised pitches must do something for the bowlers as other teams will be scoring 400+ on these kind of pitches where Pakistan can get to 300 with ease.

Yeah but in these circumstances good luck chasing 260 against ball turning square on what seem like day 5 test pitches.

I mean we managed well literally last 2 games with two very good spinners so I'd rather chase this than be chasing 350 which I know we'll never chase.

Last two games were werent chasing 260.

Also, would have lost NZ match if they had two spinners. Sodhi and Santner bowling in tandem defending 260 would have been a difficult chase even for current indian XI.

Afghanistan match chasing less than 230, just barely scraped by and only because of umpiring that went in our favour, afghanistan's terrible fielding, and their captains mistake bowling himself. I would hardly say we would have chased 260 on this pitch.

But we weren't chasing 260? So why mention it?

On such tracks we're not going to concede 260, as we have shown in this WC. Even with our horrible spin we still restrict teams. We would have humiliated NZ even worse had we not dropped 7 catches. The only team I can't see us chasing even small totals is India.

I think the weather played a part, hottest day of the year today so the pitch was going to turn no matter what.

However that being said it should have been played on a fresh pitch. It was well known in advance that today would be very hot so they should have prepared a new pitch.

Even the match against NZ the pitch crumbled far too quickly. Babar played an extraordinarily innings otherwise we were never chasing that score if NZ played one more spinner.

The Teams batting first have too much advantage and that makes it unfair.

ICC definitely haven’t got the balance right, that’s really disappointing.

This Indian team can beat any other team on any given pitch & conditions. ppl thinking eng could outclass them on flat pitch are under estimating Indian bowling, they won't let eng score more than 300 & can score 340+ themselves on flat pitch against english bowling.

Pakistani fans surely whine more than Bairstow.

I dont think its whining. Its actually genuine praise for India that their spinners are the best our of the lot and will be able to win their side the matches by utilizing the conditions better than the spinners of the other teams.

uh? spinning or fast bouncy tracks would suit india perfectly. bumrah and shami would wreak havoc on bouncy tracks. they are good on both. Their issue is with flat dead wickets if the opposition bats first. batting shoot out would be an issue if their openers don't start well.
