I watched the 2nd T20 game between Australia and England day before yesterday. You see quality in batting in both sides all the way down to no. 6 or 7

If anything Finch and Maxwell look to be the weak link in Aussie batting line up right now. Maxwell has scored just 20 odd runs in his last 6 or 7 T20 games. Steve Smith needs to come back to shore up the batting

Australia has plenty of other good hitters in Mitch Marsh, Stoinis, Matthew Wade and David Lee. Cameron Green should have been selected in their World Cup squad

Australia lost both games by narrow margins - 8 runs to be precise.

Australia have won the toss and have opted to field

So, a couple of changes for England. Sam Curran and Chris Jordan sit out for Chris Woakes and Mark Wood. Australia, meanwhile, have rested David Warner and brought in Steve Smith, who is likely to slot in at 4. Maxwell to open? Gee, that sounds exciting...

Teams:

England (Playing XI): Jos Buttler(w/c), Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, David Willey, Mark Wood, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley

Australia (Playing XI): Aaron Finch(c), Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Matthew Wade(w), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Butler having a quiet start by his standards. A bit Rizwan like. :)

Another example of an anchor:-

David Malan AVG 40, SR 138

You can call yourself anchor and whatever not but inspite of that, you should be maintaining a strike rate of 135 or more.

ENG 49/1 (6.2) CRR: 7.74
Rain stops play

Even rizwan can score 26 ball 33 in first 10 overs so, whats the difference between buttler and rizwan

RAIN STOPS PLAY - Over 9.4 - England 73-2 (Buttler 38, Stokes 5)

ENG 112/2 (12)

AUS 30/3 (3.5)

No result

PLAYER OF THE SERIES
Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler - We had a good series in Pakistan, to come and continue that over here is a good feeling. We just had 2 and a bit overs to play, so just came out and gave everything we had with the bat. The conditions were challenging and I thought we were pretty good across every department. Woakes was unbelievable in his first spell tonight, got the ball to swing and that's good news for us.

Aaron Finch - It was, there was quite a bit of rain yesterday and today as well, and we would have been happier with a full game. Credit to England, they outplayed us in all the three games, but I thought the fielding was better on a slightly greasy surface tonight. We will take a couple of days off, recharge, enjoy each other's company and start our preparations for the World Cup

So, England take the series 2-0.

Strong statement from England right before the World T20.

Australia, NZ, India all these teams still live on this 'experience' crap. England should win this one easily. But funny things happen. SA should be a strong favorite. But their forced choices won't allow them. They almost got all the bases covered.

Australia always look lackluster before t20 WCs and then turn on the heat as soon as the tournament starts.

Australia was lacksluster even during world cup last time. Remember how Butler thrashed him. Mraculously they won almost all the tosses after that. Finch even admitted they were lucky with the tosses after winning the world T20. They were never a great T20 side. Even now home advantage is the only thing.
