4th ODI: Pakistan vs England at RawalPindi

Pakistan must bat till the 50 overs, with the ball keeping low and all...225 will be a very good total to defend

And the 3 spinners will get lot of turn from the pitch

Inzi needs to get the strike here if we are to put something on the board
 
Sami was trying to cover the line and not get out. With 3 overs left plenty of runs still to be had.

game is no over, its a respectable score i think. Pakistan to win with an Akhtar special!

well i think we have a chance but for that we need to ball out heart kidney, jigar dimmaag everything out
 
i dont really think pak have a chance after 210...240 might have been competitive....but 4 an over...they just need to bat 45 ovrs
 
Excellent bowling performance by England-looks like they waited for their final week to suss out what to do.
 
Its hard to believe that this is the same team that thrashed Eng by 160+ runs in the 3rd ODI.
If we bowl well and take some early wickets however, I think we have a good chance.
 
this time we need to go for the kill. If we have them at 130 odd for 8 we HAVE to finish it off

not a great score but if we come out pumped and take some poles up front we can do it there is a very soft belly in there batting order espeically with no Pietersom and we have already seen them falter chasing a low score in the test series
 
this was shambolic.. Inzi should not have taken a runner coz the plonkers that are Sami and Rana didnt understand that Inzi should have had most of the strike..
 
210 is well below par. 250 would have been a winning total,.. 230 would have been a fighting one, but 210 does not look enough. We will need a superb bowling performance to win this game. The wicket is slow, so keeping the runs in check early will be vital. The only way to do that is getting wickets. I feel this pitch will suit Rana.
 
Early wickets on this pitch will put England under pressure.....our bowlers need to keep it tight.
 
Mark my words...even if England wins (hoepfully not), it will be quite close

The odd ball is keeping low, ball is turning, and Pak has 3 spinners (with Arshad Khan included)

Now since Inzi is injured, Younas Khan will take over and that will help too
 
This match is a good example of why Pakistan's supersub policy is all wrong. They could have had an all-rounder or batsman come in at the fall of Razzaq's wicket.

Come on, the pitch is truning from the first ball that Balckwell bowled...it is a spinners pitch

i feel we are 15/20 runs too light here, but nonetheless, its a fighting score and we will get a bit of help on this wicket when we bowl. The wicket is in decent shape for the second half, not too scuffed...

Also, I dont know if u have noticed, when the game began. the ball came onto the bat for the first few overs and then started to slow down and made the batter wait a bit more...

I feel that if this carries on, then the seamers who are quicker than englands, may not find the wicket to our liking....the spinners hold the key to this game at this moment...who will arshad replace??? Maybe Salman or Yousaf.

210 IS A FIGHTING total in this game, and one where the spin bowlers need to exert pressure

Pak already have 2 spinners. If they wanted another, then they could have chosen Arshad as a specialist and had an all-rounder as the supersub. If this is a spinning pitch and Pak knew that in advance, then that's what they should have done.

If instead it is a surprise that it's a turning pitch, then having Arshad as the supersub is just a lucky bonus, and you can't rely on luck (gambling) when choosing your team.

Maybe they didn't want to change the winning combo and also if Arshad was included in the team, Amjid and several others would have burned PP down...so it was a good move IMO :D

Inzi did say in an interview that they expect the pitch to turn
 
Yes, thats also a good point....We are waiting for feedback from the dressing room regarding that.

BTW, if you did watch the game, then how did you miss the fact that Inzi seemed in discomfort from the start of his innings...ever since he hit that 6 or even before that, he was stretching in every over!

Yet you criticize the guy who took us over the 200 mark...some people are never happy :21:

Thats the idea of a commentary thread. Allows those who arent watching/listening to the game to get a Pak perspective on whats happening...and not rely on CricIndo's coverage.
