What's new

A dominant Islamabad United (159/4) dispose of Peshawar Zalmi (156/8) by 6 wickets in Match 12

Babar needs a better trigger movement for Spinners, he's too rigid playing spinners limiting scoring opportunities

Great comeback from Hasan Ali. Seems like his his strengths of skiddy length delivery with hint of seam is always his wicket taking delivery. Always lacked a bit of control but when on song, he is world class.

Play him in his position and then talk about him
These Pakistani batsman from haider ali to haris to saim, all need to learn the art of building an inning. Otherwise there is umar akmal written all over them.

Only 30 runs scored off the last 34 balls. PZ batsmen need to put a bigger price on their wicket.

That's like asking for 10 years of work experience for a junior position or from a fresh graduate.

The problem is that in Pakistan we hype young batsman then the outcome is haider ali and umer akmal. The guy just avg 32 in first class and is hyped to the moon.It does not work like that in india or australia/England.

With all due respect, I still believe that both of those batsman + Saim Ayub would be better off opening in powerplay overs. Look at David Warner and bunch of other openers around the world...they wouldn't be opening if the opening didn't suit their style of play.

Every team becomes like Pakistan national team which has Babar in it

How can they we already have 2 all time great openers in Babar and Rizwan who’ve broken the Guinness world record for strike rates in recent tournaments.

babar has been T20I top ranked for more than 1000 days. New guys you are talking about dont even have a first class hundred. First let them earn a spot.

well look at Babar. He has being there since the opening and has faced almost 50% of the balls and look at his S/R. Other openers around the world have over 180 S/R if they are carrying the bat.

It is always safety first with Babar. Will forever play in his comfort zone. He is really risk averse as a batter

Pakistani Batsman selected on hype are no warners they are haider ali, asif ali, khushdil, umar akmal. They come on the basis of mediocre first class record.

Where are their competitors Pakistani openers?
Pakistani has history of T20Is batters
with 20-22 avg and 125 strike rate. Name anyone who has better record.

Making runs against B teams and minnows is different to tournaments the performance was worse than any opener in history in the Asia Cup and World Cup still we see Babar fans defend this I don’t think they want Pakistan to win just Babar to be opening for another 10 years.

Tailenders should be able to hit boundaries at the death, this is stupid from Babar.

The guys you are talking about dont even score in pakistan domestic and psl.

Oh look, Babar has the similar S/R to that of his T20 career. Nothing surprising there.

He was pretty good in wc2019 and wc2021. You have not mentioned that.
I would like you to name pakistani batsman with proven record of 25+ avg and 135+ strike rate.

Must be a good team then considering the national side has reached 2 semi finals and a final in the last 3 tournaments

It boggles my mind the hate.

We are a flawed team, Babar has his flaws, but given the talent we have done relatively well.

Babar doesn't have power hitting, this is true. He should have done better. This is true. Just not a consistent player who uses smashing to really turn matches, he is more consistency, which is an issue, but again, he's basically the best of what we have.

Make them open. That's the only solution for these guys. Either make them open or discard them for good because they don't have it in them. In T20, runs don't matter as much as S/R. It's all about S/R.

Shockingly selfish innings from Babar. Accounted for half of all balls faced and only managed 74 runs. Was nudging it around for singles in the final over to stay not out 🤔

Somebody needs to give the guy a kick up the backside. Yes he might be the best we have but he has the shots to increase his SR, yet chooses to not to.

It's really astonishing to see how mediocre Babar is when it comes to up the ante. The guy doesn't have power or innovation. His range is so limited that it looks awkward. The higher gear simply doesn't exist in his arsenal. I'll repeat what many have already stated, a guy with so much limitations shouldn't play as an opener, infact he shouldn't even feature in the main XI of a top level t20 side.
I don't want to bash him, but really he is nowhere near the level of Kohli in white ball formats, they really shouldn't be compared.

You can’t be 75 after staying half the innings. Babar has to learn aerial shots.

Babar’s 75 and PZ’s total are exactly played at the same pace - Babar should be the last one to complain about this below par score. He is the main reason why PZ ended where they did.

Him and Rizwan, always looking at others to play at a high tempo. SR of 129 after playing 10 overs is pathetic. And please don’t give me the “wickets were falling on the other end” crap

From what little I've seen, Mubasir is a high quality prospect. Easily the most impressive talent after Ihsanullah.

Lol at "22 year old" Arshad Iqbal though.

I have nothing against this talk back to press or detractors. But internally he must work on all things that will make him a match winner in all formats.

Their egos are touching the sky internally. There is no way a professional athlete whose only full-time job is to train and get better every day can't seem to improve.

There’s no need to play quickly here risk free cricket will be an easy win from here.
