Aaron Finch hits 155* as Australia comfortably defeat Pakistan by 8 wickets in 2nd ODI at Sharjah

The only positive to come out of this series is that we know that Hasnain isn't out of place. The rest is the same old, same old

Yes whilst it might be true that testing young players was more important to them, you shouldn't say out loud that you don't care about winning. For one you are already making an excuse for the future matches expectant of losing, and second it is not giving due respect to the other team.

The 120 dot balls I think we played is an embarrassment. Even if this is our reserve team/B team they should now how to play according to the modern game. I also question why we even called Faheem when he's getting sent back after 2 games?

Even the Pakistan A team have been hammered like minnows by most other teams here. No shame in this B/C side losing.

Finch's ODI best sets up Australia win

Aaron Finch's 153* helped Australia stroll to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Pakistan to go 2-0 up in their five-match ODI series.

The Australian captain was in complete control from the moment he opened his side's innings with a target of 285 staring back at him.

Leading his country, Finch struck 11 fours and six sixes as he recorded his highest ever score in his ODI career. Finch was involved in an opening stand worth 209 - the 28th highest partnership for the first wicket in ODI history - with Usman Khawaja who was out for 88 when he picked out Imam-ul-Haq at deep midwicket off Yasir Shah in the 37th over.

Not long after Glenn Maxwell was run out for 19 after a direct hit from Haris Sohail but the result was never in doubt. Finch's second consecutive hundred against Pakistan was delivered with equal doses of power and class and deserved to be on the winning side.

It was not the only ton of the match however as Pakistan's keeper Mohammad Rizwan scored his maiden century with a fine knock that was peppered with 11 fours. His stay of 115 - which was ended by a brilliant catch by Maxwell on the rope off Nathan Coulter-Nile in the 47th over - was a timely one as it rescued his side from a tricky position at 112/4.

His partnership with his skipper Shoaib Malik (60 off 61) was worth 127 but never felt like enough as the hosts will know they left too many runs out on a good surface.

Their innings got off to a tough start Imam-ul-Haq was bowled for a duck by Jhye Richardson in the first over. The fast bowler then had a second when Shan Masood chipped one tamely to midwicket with the score on 35. Unfortunately for the tearaway, his injured his shoulder and left the field in distress. It was later confirmed he'd suffered a dislocation.

Without him, Australia got on just fine and bagged two more wickets through spin. Finch's dobblers did the trick for Sohail who edged behind and then Umar Akmal holed out to deep midwicket.

That was when Malik joined Rizwan and the pair looked untroubled until Adam Zampa had the Pakistan captain caught on the boundary at long on.

The Pakistan tail huffed but couldn't drag the score beyond 300 which made the chase that much easier for the tourists.

Finch's highest score of 153 not out will rightly grab the headlines but this was a complete performance from the men in green and gold who are gathering a head of steam ahead of the Men's Cricket World Cup in May.

Pakistan's A-Class team will win the coming world cup in their favorite England Venue or I am not sure if they will play their B,C,D team there as well...! (Or probably some other excuse like certain team was trying to distract them by mixing politics with sports!)

They'll do better in England but their record in UAE is garbage over the last decade despite playing 2 chuckers .

Malik reminds of of my cousin who always says after i beat him in chess -" abe vo to main aaj time pass k liye khel raha tha". If you don't want to win an official international ODI match, i think you are disrespecting the sport.

We´re slowly heading towards a whitewash here. The under 300 totals are creating no fuss for Australia, and given the batting line-up that Pakistan are playing in this series, around 280 is the best that you can expect them to reach. A headache for the think-tank here because neither are Pakistan world-beaters at chasing down scores, so that puts bowling first almost out of the window. Sharjah has always been a good batting surface. A change of venue now and hence a shift to Abu Dhabi and then Dubai could be the help that Pakistan need right now. Pakistan´s team is quite good with those close matches with under 250 scores.

We won't bowl them under 250 with half a bowling attack.

We should at least be able to win one match when the Aussies use their bench in the 5th match.

I´m still hopeful of a win before the fifth match. Maybe today, who knows? All this teams needs is a win and thus a bit of confidence. Yes, it´s not a full strength team but a couple of guys having a good match can turn things around quite fast.
