Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Juventus in the summer in a deal that will earn him just over £400,000 a week.

The 28-year-old has agreed a four-year contract that will see him join the Italian champions as a free agent, ending his 11-year spell with the Gunners.

Ramsey, whose contract expires on 30 June, passed a two-part medical in January, having picked Juve following talks with a host of Europe's leading clubs.

It is understood the deal will make him the highest-paid British player of all time based on basic salary.

End of an era! but unfortunately, there is no place for him in Arsenal it seems ...Maybe Ozil should also look for a way out?

How much was he on at arsenal?

See that puts him 2nd on juve salary - only behind ronaldo, i dont juve will be paying for this - i assume FIAT will be doing so - just like ronaldo wages

Wilshere, Gibbs, Jenkinson, Walcott, Ox, Ramsey......

At one point we were told that this would be the British core that would take Arsenal to the next level.

What went wrong?

I was expecting £300k and £400k is too much but then they are getting him for free so I suppose it’s there or there abouts.

Arsenal of course got nothjng... if they sold him last year it would have been to Manu or Liverpool but would that really matter? Those teams buy better players then us anyway and at least we would have made £45-50m for him...

Anyway, all the best to him. A very talented and much loved Arsenal player..

He was on 110k a week at Arsenal and reports suggested that he would re-sign if they paid him 220k but Arsenal didn't want to pay more than 180k.

Ozil's new contract really mucked things up for Arsenal - if you can pay Ozil £350k a week it's no wonder someone like Ramsey will demand in excess of 200k a week. Over the past 2-3 years I think Ramsey has been more valuable for Arsenal than Ozil has.

Ozil doesn’t even get into the match day squad....
Although I think that’s more to push him out of the club because no club is gonna take on those wages even if he’s on a knockdown price...

Problem as I see it is that Ozil just doesn’t care... he no longer plays for Germany and has no footballing ambition... if I were him I would take my £350k per week until the contract ends and then join a Turkish club on a free transfer and still make 75-100k per week until I retire...

We’re lumbered and we have idiots running the show.

Juventus is doing it wrong..

I understand that the club is basically paying the transfer fee to the player instead of another club, however this will destroy the wage structure inside the club and will create a rift in the dressing room in future.

Doesn’t deserve that salary considering Juventus have better players in the roster and he is injured for 30% of the games atleast anyway

Oh my. That amount in a week? How much does he actually take home?

Italy probably has lower taxes than UK but still take home should be atleast £250k+.

Mind you this is basic salary and will be paid irrespective of performances. There’s likely more appearance and performance based add-ons

Don't think Ramsey is the same player as a few years ago. Massively overpriced.

I’m not sure what Juve have seen in him or what is there vision. They could have bought 4 players similar to him with that wage bill.

It’s now going to start the new trend of gun players running down their contracts. Sanchez did it and now Ramsey.

He will cry a few tears before leaving Arsenal. These will be tears of joy showing he's gonna earn well over a million at the Italian club. Greater is my concern of Juve being linked with a £175 million move for Salah.

ive heard this rumor - doubt its true - dybala will leave shortly - however i can only see him leave for 120m euro's and for madrid, i dont think juve will spend that much for salah

Juve have been linked with ramsey for few yrs now - since pogba left juve.

Juve desperately need a midfielder who can score goals form the middle - ramsey does fit this. As juve didn't pay any transfer - comes out a lot cheaper then buying 4 players.

Juve wage bill aint that high as it is - https://www.sportskeeda.com/footbal...and-salaries-of-first-team-stars-revealedss/5

We must keep Salah. After the Couts and Saurez fiasco's we must not sell any more top players. Would be sweet revenge if we signed Dybala after them taking Emre Can of us:stokes

That rumor came from DonBalon... People who follow transfer news are well aware about their reputation of printing fantasy stories....

i agree with you, however i can see madrid trying to buy salah - if they dont get dybala or mbappe

Arsenal midfielders Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey have not been included in the squad to face BATE Borisov in their Europa League last 32 tie on Thursday.

Ozil has returned to full training after recovering from illness but has not travelled to Belarus for the match.

Ramsey, who on Monday signed a £400k a week deal to join Juventus in the summer, misses out with a knee injury.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Granit Xhaka are back after missing Saturday's Premier League win over Huddersfield.

Centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos is still absent because of an ankle injury despite returning to training.

"The players we didn't bring in the squad were because Aaron Ramsey did not train with us and Sokratis only started training on Tuesday and Wednesday, and I don't think it's enough," said Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

"Mesut is the same. Aubameyang, after he was sick, trained this week, and I think he's OK for the match."

BATE host Arsenal at 17:55 GMT on Thursday, with the return leg at Emirates Stadium on Thursday, 21 February.

Petr Cech, who will continue to start in goal for the Gunners in cup competitions, said winning the Europa League would be the "ideal scenario" before he retires at the end of the season.

"Winning the Europa League is a great memory for everyone involved and secondly it can book you a place in the Champions League," he said.

"So you can see, there is a lot to play for."

No hope for football if this guy is on 400k a week.
