India and Pakistan booked their places in the U19 Asia Cup final with commanding 8-wicket victories in their respective semi-finals. For Pakistan, Abdul Subhan’s brilliant spell of 4/20 dismantled Bangladesh before Sameer Minhas guided the chase with an unbeaten 69, ensuring a comfortable win. India, meanwhile, eased past Sri Lanka as Aaron George (58) and Vihaan Malhotra (61) stitched together an unbroken 114-run stand to seal the result.

Both matches were rain-affected, with Pakistan’s semifinal reduced to 27 overs per side and India’s to 20. The stage is now set for a high-stakes Sunday finale, where traditional rivals Pakistan and India will clash for the U19 Asia Cup title.

I think it’s going to be a good fight. Pakistan’s pace bowling is pretty impressive.
It will be Pakistan’s pace attack versus India’s top order that decides the match.
Pak cant chase anything above 150.
At the worst india will atleast get to 220.
So realistically speaking pak has no chance of winning against this indian side.
Vaibhav ayush aaron and kundu are too good for u19 level

Unless India play very badly it will be very difficult to win this one. The batting talent is just not there for us and that was evident from our both openers intent , even when they were positive and was going after bowling the timing and shot selection and shot power was just not there and they need extreme good luck to keep playing with that aggressive intent.

Ahmed Hasan shouldn’t bat at no4 because anything above 130k on a good length or short pitch length then he is a sitting duck.

Anything can happen in a final, Mhatre hasn't yet fired in the tournament so far.

Sooryavanshi needs to spend some time at the crease before going big.

George, Malhotra, Kundu, Chauhan, Devendran are good finds for India ahead of the World Cup next month.

Apart from 1 or 2 this is a certified parchi team. Unless miracle happens we cannot win.

What if Pak bat first? Can india withstand the Pak pace while under pressure of chasing in a final?

Pakistan seek U19 Asia Cup title as they face India in final

Pakistan will take on India in the final of the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup on Sunday, 21 December at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. The first ball of the final will be bowled at 9am local time.

Talking to PCB Digital ahead of the final, Farhan Yousaf said:

“Our preparation has been very good and the morale in the camp is very high. The management has backed us strongly and we will try to come out victorious.

“Bangladesh proved to be a very good opponent and it was enjoyable to compete against them. The players performed really well. Our fielding unit has been outstanding, the batting performed well in the last match and the bowling has been consistent throughout the tournament. This collective effort has contributed to our strong results.

“The final is a big game and the players are very confident. We aim to carry forward the momentum and positivity from the last match, play aggressive cricket, give our 100 per cent and are hopeful of a result going in our team’s favour.”

15-member squad:

Farhan Yousaf (captain), Usman Khan (vice-captain), Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Hussain, Ali Hassan Baloch, Ali Raza, Daniyal Ali Khan, Hamza Zahoor (wk), Huzaifa Ahsan, Momin Qamar, Mohammad Huzaifa, Mohammad Sayyam, Mohammad Shayan (wk), Niqab Shafiq and Sameer Minhas

This is a weak U19 PK team, maybe they are genuinely U19s, in which case thats not a problem.
My worry is Ali Raza- a real talent in terms of pace but I cant see how going forward, he will look to get people out. Its the same problem Joffra has, pace but little skill besides a sharp short ball.

Ali Raza is 17. Give him some more time to develop his game

Another Sunday another India vs Pakistan clash and it’s becoming too predictable. India look clear favorites once again. This time Pakistan’s U-19 side appears genuinely under-19.. They lack muscle and strength and rely heavily on timing rather than power.
Under pressure against India, Pakistan tend to panic either going into a defensive shell or swinging wildly losing early wickets. While the bowling attack has quality and discipline the batting unit still looks average and fragile. Unless there’s a drastic shift in mindset and intent the outcome feels inevitable.

They couldn’t teach Ali Raza to move the ball in last 3 years , I doubt they can now , need to send him for a county season if it’s possible.

After the disastrous Ramiz Raja regime, we are finally seeing hints of a recovery in our youth system.

It took 4 years to see progress and I am hopeful in another 5 years we will discover world class talent.

Damage can be done quickly but the recovery can take a very long time.
