Adiala or Sihala?

I think judge refused it they were shifted to Adiala last night?

I think judge refused it they were shifted to Adiala last night?

It's confusing.

Most reports are saying that they moved Nawaz to Adiala but many also saying that Maryam was at Sihala. Report from Geo says both are now in Adiala.

As long as they are behind bars....

I think Maryam was sent to Sihala out of respect for female, while NS went to Adiala.

They are both in Adiala. 100% confirmed. They wont be shifted anywhere else and the other two references will be heard at Adiala.

Nawaz, Maryam likely to be shifted to Sihala rest house: sources

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz are likely to be shifted to police rest house in Sihala, sources informed Geo News late Wednesday.

The former premier and his daughter, who were convicted in the Avenfield Apartments reference, were arrested upon their arrival in Lahore on July 13 and were subsequently taken to Islamabad through a chartered flight.

They were then taken to Central Jail in Adiala, Rawalpindi, and have since been there.

The sources said that all arrangements for the shifting of the father-daughter duo have been finalised.

The Islamabad chief commissioner has already declared the rest house at the Sihala Police Training College in the capital as a sub-jail to keep the two figures.

I think even Swedish jails are not this extravagant, and they are considered some of the nicest jails in the world.

I recall that Swedish attacker a while ago who mass killed many was sent to a jail that was like a proper guest room in a house.

Yet this guy who also probably has blood on his hands directly or indirectly gets a nice small villa. Really is a king.

Nawaz’s movement limited after inmates chant slogans against him

RAWALPINDI: Adiala jail authorities have limited the movement of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif after some prisoners started chanting slogans against him as he was out for a stroll in the courtyard of his barrack early in the morning.

Sharif will now also not be allowed to pray in the mosque.

According to sources, the jail authorities are considering moving Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz to Safwat Lodge, commonly referred to as Sihala Rest House, located on the premises of Sihala Police College.

“A bomb disposal squad visited Sihala Police College Wednesday night to comb the premises to ensure there are no explosives in case the former premier and his daughter are moved to Sihala,” a senior security official said.

He said it may be unsafe for the three-time prime minister to remain in the jail due to the presence of high profile prisoners convicted in terrorism cases, even though security for him and his daughter has been beefed up.

A senior police official said security outside Adiala jail has also been tightened due to the large number of people coming to meet their loved ones in jail and the gathering of PML-N workers and leaders attempting to meet Sharif and Maryam.

Safwat Lodge has been cleaned and decorated with flowers, paintings and photographs. A double bed, two chairs and a table will also be provided to the prisoners.

This is the same lodge where former president and PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari had been detained when his party’s government was dismissed in 1996. Other political leaders have also been detained in the rest house in the past.

On July 13, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration had already declared the rest house a sub-jail for detaining the Sharifs who were arrested by the National Accountability Bureau when they reached Lahore. However, they were taken to Adiala jail instead.

After the notification was issued by the ICT administration and the commandant of Police College Sihala was contacted to seek charge of the rest house on Friday, the rest house was cleaned and prepared for the former prime minister.

Nice rest house , I would like to spend some days there, but how can I commit corruption worth Billions ?

They might as well be sent to Hilton or Marriott and declare that as a sub jail.. or even better just declare the PM House as a sub jail and let them shift over there because most likely PMLN will win elections and otherwise you will have Nawaz running the show from Adiyala via remote control.

So Maryam is not going to Sihala. More eggs on Junooni faces.

She continues to make their lives miserable with her defiance. Her resilience is far greater than what they anticipated, and she has put certain commandos to shame with her courage. Clearly a strong leader in the making.

Whatever you think of her, even you will have to admit that she has shown more guts than Pervez "mai commando hoon" Musharraf.

I don't judge people based on their time spent in jail for crimes they committed. Musharraf had the best opportunity to sideline these 2 families but he failed the nation. Ayse to Imran was also sent to Jail by Musharraf without any court order or crime but we don't use that card.

She didn't run away from justice like Musharraf. That is the point.

You and me both know running away here means more damage to her political career in future. Musharraf in other hand is a 74 year old guy with no future in politics.

Had she stayed in London, you would have called her a coward.

My opinion doesn't matter if i call her a coward or not staying in London had damaged her political career massively.

It may not matter, but you would have criticized her either way. Had she stayed in London, you would have called her a coward. Not that she has returned to face the music, you are calling it a political move.

Bottom line is that she has shown a lot more courage and guts than Musharraf who chickened out.

She's likely crying in her cell every night. Do you think people like her who have lived a life of luxary via theft can handle night after night in jail? Of course for propoganda she will put on a brave face and look for sympathy but inside she must be feeling humiliated, scared and probably suicidal.

She should never have been offered anything other than a normal cell as a street criminal would get. An example needs to set with no favours.

Any person who has lived a luxurious life will feel miserable in a jail. However, the fact that she refuses to shift to a better jail in spite of numerous opportunities shows that she has more guts and courage than many think.

She can feel humiliated and scared inside, but what matters is that she is prepared to go through this ordeal. If it was so easy to put on a brave face, commando Musharraf would not have chickened out.

Obviously her detractors do not have the courage to commend her show of bravery and resilience, but her returning to Pakistan was not part of the script - they were hoping that she would stay back in London, so that they can call her a coward for not having the guts to spend time in jail.

Unfortunately, for them, they cannot play that card anymore. Maryam has thrown a curveball for which they were not prepared, since they did not expect her to show an ounce of bravery, and they are now desperately hoping that she moves to a more comfortable jail as soon as possible.

I thought a jail would look like this:

Courage to go to jail for proven crimes committed? I was also in prison (for political reasons), maybe you should worship me too. However I did not steal billions from the Pakistani populace so I may not qualify.

Even in jail she is thinking politically, looking for sympathy and trying to show she has courage. This will of course sit well with her supporters, who dont care about her crimes.

Prison is place where people can be reformed. If she is a truly courageous woman , firstly she should show remorse, accept her wrong doings and promise to change. She should then come clean and promise to help return all money which has been looted from the Pakistani people.

This is courage not crocodile tears for her electorate.

Ishaq Dar has a red warrant out for him. Syed1, KingKhanWC, this shows that Mamoon was wrong about Maryam's bravery and she ran before she was pushed. Poor guy, his role model revealed to be evil.
