Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe by 49 runs in 1st ODI

He bowled really well. A spinner 3 bowled is very impressive. No LBW, no catches, all bowled.

Poor Zimbabwe.
Congrats Afghanistan,was always backing them to win this after the first over of Zimbabwe's batting.
 
Pretty impressive to see so many people at Sharjah stadium for this match. It's Friday, so people are free. Might not be this many people at the other games.
 
Great victory and great bowling by Amir Hamza. Love the Afghanistan team and I hope they keep winning!
 
ACB Fb page says 9,000 people came for the match. That is very good crowd. Minimum ticket was 30 dirhum and maximum 300 dirhums.

exactly he used to be called Hamza Hotak and now suddely he is Amir Hamza may after a couple of months his name will be SRK..........who kmows
 
what a waste of time and ICC funding is this Zim team.need to be booted out.they have no interest or intention to improve,in a couple of years will join Kenya.after the exodus of white players they are really struggling thanks to his Royal Highness King Mugabe

Wasnt UAE the worst side in last world cup?Both Ireland and Afghanistan looked much better teams than UAE.
Doubt the UAE team qualities have increased that much suddenly.

Will see in T20 world cup qualifiers I suppose

We are not in WT20.No Afghanistan were worse than us
 
I hope Afghans keep getting more regular ODI game against all test playing nations as it will only help there team development.

You're welcome. Afghanistan is clearly better and I don't know what this guy is talking about. People want Afghanistan to get test status where as UAE is finishing 6th with Canada last in the World Cup Qualifiers...

I have been through this with him in the past but he keeps going on and on about how UAE is superior to Afghanistan.

Afghanistan team is improving quick and with inzimam's as head coach and a new bowling coach, they can get even better.

The good thing I have noticed is, the youngsters are performing which is a good sign. Recently our under 19 team won 4:0 against Zimbabwe.

I really like the Afghanistan team and I hope they keep improving and at one point become a team that can compete with the other major teams along with Ireland.

Good signs for Afghanistan and hope that both batting and bowling will improve under the new coaches, Good Luck!
 
Rise of Afghanistan is critical for the long term benefit of cricket. It is great to see Afghans doing so well, especially after all the war and violence in their nation. I hope the popularity of the game is growing there.
