However, the loss isn't the problem. It's the manner of it. The team selection is awful. Who plays 4 fast bowlers on a Sharjah pitch? Are you playing in Perth? Shadab's shot was awful given the match situation. Pakistan's lack of game awareness is shocking. Imad is the only one who is playing sensibly but he can't hold on for too long either.

These are not the easiest conditions for T20 batting. They must learn and adjust for the next two matches.

2. Blame the selection (but but but we should have played Shan and Ifti!)

Pakistani batters have historically struggled against Afghan bowlers. Combine that with Pakistan playing predominantly new batters this time around, I can’t really say this performance is THAT surprising. I just hope that these youngsters play the full series and not just panic and bring in Shan and Iftikhar. Even if it potentially means getting swept 3-0.
