My word, Zimbabwe an utter shambles. Needless run-out, now 48-6.

Zimbabwe gets a lot of matches against Afghanistan as well as Bangladesh. Its time we have more matches between Bangladesh and Afghanistan to see who is the better team.

And this team embarrassed us couple of months back

They lost some players to Country cricket.

Kyle Jarvis is a decent pace bowler, but not playing for Zim. The other pace bowlers not as good as him.

They lost their best player Brendon Taylor to county cricket as well.

They currently miss Sean Williams, Craig Ervine and Panyangara to injury.. However all those players played when Afg won the series in Zim.

With all those above players playing Zimbabwe is a decent team. And one can argue they should have dept and do well despite missing 5 players, but currently it looks very very bad for them. Dark times for certain.

Zimbabwe still produce some very good talent but can't retain them due to inept administration and race-based selection.

Brendan Taylor+*
Chamu Chibhabha
Hamilton Masakadza
Craig Ervine
Sean Williams
Elton Chigumbura
Malcolm Waller
Graeme Cremer
Kyle Jarvis
Tinashe Panyangara
Tendai Chatara

If Zimbabwe could field the XI above they'd be better than West Indies and Pakistan currently imo.

Craig's brother Sean Ervine also another player lost due to the issues in Zimbabwe.

Wasn't this pitch at Sharjah relaid recently ? Another poor UAE pitch, lots of turn and such little bounce. Strokeplay and timing becomes difficult leading to attritional contests like this where the spinners are so dominant.

Dont see Afghanistan winning, with Cremer coming up - in my opinion the best spinner of this lot.

Zimbabwe need to attack now that Shehzad's gone. Only one slip wth?

Pitch is not bad. Quality of players are pretty average to say the least.

What a way to shut Afghans but still my money is on Afghanistan. They have some batters coming down the order

The accent of the AFG Cricket Board chairman tho. You can easily pick out the Pashto flair in his English.

That Rashid guy is 17 years old and I am 17 year old too and my photo is in Post pics of yourself thread and then you can compare

Afghanistan Cricket chairman: "In the history of Afghanistan cricket no one has helped more than India"

So Aghanistan can't even play a medium pace like Jongwe and here people want them to play Tests

Yeah because one match means so much. Can clearly tell you're jealous about Afghanistan and what they have been able to do compared to what UAE could do...

What cricket is Ireland playing? Why are they not playing a series against Afghanistan?

Better to play some cricket then nothing at all.

Playing PNG in the IC Cup in Australia in a few weeks, followed by 3 t20's vs PNG and 3 further t20's in the UAE vs unconfirmed opposition on the way back from that trip.

Last played in late October, players understandably need some time off and we cant play any cricket in winter anyway due to our weather.

4 ODI's vs SL and Pakistan and 2 ODI's vs SA and Aus (in SA no less) as well as the WC and IC Cup games for the year scheduled too.

Hope you beat Sri Lanka for your own good but not Pakistan please:yk

That's good. Any new talent or still the old guns? I hear Rankin is back, but Cusack and Mooney gone to retirement?

If Taylor,Jarvis and Williams were playing for Zimbabwe,Afghanistan wouldn't even have come closer

Afghanistan played series against Zimbabwe with Taylor and Willams playing and draw that series 2-2 in Zimbabwe
Won 3-2 and 2-0(T20) in Zim with Williams playing all games.

Afghanistan also missing their best bowler Hamid Hassan who is much better bowler then Kyle Jarvis.

Mashallah, apart from a partnership of 110, 20 wickets crashed for about 125. I think, at PSL, we 'll watch "2 movies at 1 ticket" - cricket & hockey.
