waqar gos the opposite of what shitsy and rameez were saying....and rightly so....it was a scratchy knock....ramiz and shitsy get ur facts right!

really don't see the purpose of :misbah coming out to bat ...

against England, :umarakmal will be likely asked to bat under pressure as he was against SL where he nearly took us home ... we fans get deprived of such sheer talent it's really frustrating

That's bad captaincy by Misbah here. He should be sending Umar Akmal so that he can get much needed practice in the UAE conditions. I hope, we are not ruining his career with all these stupid decisions regarding him. I know that Umer Akmal is somewhat responsible for this, but the team management has not really helped him much. He is a sheer talent that we should not waste.

Waqar and Mujahid are really overstating how the Afghans have played. They have been alright but this game has never been close.

Umar should be batting no lower than 5th. Ideally, he should be at 4.

If Afghanistan keep working hard like this , they should be ready for international level in 2 years

Two tuk tuk players and two chup chup commentators. What entertainment!

Does it really make any sense to play Malik at seven? Is that the capacity Misbah wants him as, a no.7 batsman, who bowls a couple of overs? Especially since it's been evident that Malik has looked better with the bat in ODIs the higher he bats?

Very strange.

Exactly, wats the point of play Umar and Malik when you are not gona let them get some batting practice and also Afridi, for God's sake, we are playing against Afghanistan who are playing their first ODI EVER !!

His defensive mind would not allow the risk of slipping another wicket.

Misbah is trying to make a match of this. Is it too much to ask for entertainment once in a while?

If this is the batting line up, umar has to bat at six. No one else can do it, perhaps maybe Malik (who's likely to be batting at seven). Might as well get used to batting at six. Does a good job at it anyway, far better than the other guys we've tried at six.

People often say batsmen are wasted at six, but six is a very important position, it's a position where you have to play with the tail, stop the collapse if it's happening and finish the match. Not an easy position to play at at all. And umar's damn good at it.

As for Malik, no idea why he's batting at seven. Can't believe Misbah wanted Malik that badly if he's batting at seven, and bowling 4 overs or so (3 overs which Hafeez probably could have completed if he was given full overs).

Why are we making a batsman into a slogger?

What a shot by the Mis! Not sure what all the complaints are about, Pakistan supporters seem very miserable in victory.

misbah and younis trying to boost their averages against mighty afghans

And then you people complain that he doesnt get big hundreds

hopefully Whatmore rightfully enforces promotion of Jr. up the order once he joins the team as coach

Misbah showing how selfish and stat hungry he is, first he fights for his friend Malik to be included in place of a youngster, he has made poor Umar irrelevant, pathetic and short sided attitude by this selfish player.

With Misbah, Afridi and Malik in the ODI side, there is no space for Umar akmal. He cannot justify his place based on his keeping skills alone and the fact that he has not come into bat today means that team management do not see him as an essential player in the ODI either side.

I think he is play a very heavy price for playing games with his elder brother against the PCB and team management on the australian tour.

I don't complain, I know most of the times Umar won't get big hundreds at six.

Umar averages over 42 at no.6, with five half centuries and 1 century. The only hundred he has, has been scored at six anyway.

But if you average over 40 batting at six that's very good. Allows us to accelerate the innings as the match progresses, and allows to close and finish a lot of matches.

Fact is Umar is a very good no.6. I can't think of a better no.6 than him at the moment we could use. I wouldn't mind him batting higher up, but the guy is very important for us at six too.

Want Umar to bat, but looks like these two will close out the match now. Ah well, long as we win.

TuK Tuk Tuk pathetic, Misbah will definitely lose us a few more games. This guy is not a ODI player.

Amir "He is hitting the deck hard, he is hitting the bat hard". Can someone explain me how he is hitting bat hard :D

while you make good points, team would be better served if Umar batted up the order and made big runs ...
