eh? Is that supposed to be a joke? Theyre Welsh

Well played, nonetheless.

2 wickets and a fifty is a very good performance.

Good match for Afridi but Ireland will probably lose this match now as they were pretty much relying on Afridi.

can saqi do anything to save ireland? :P

Saqi has hit an unbeaten century in a Test match in the past and has a highest score of 37* at ODI level :P

Why were the commentators laughing? What was so funny? I thought he played really well.

They were over the moon that he got out!!

Correction: Knee injury.

How he manages to pick up these injuries I'll never know.

Ah, it's a knee injury apparently, not a foot injury. No idea how serious it is though.

Ireland can still win it, but i have a feeling Saqi hasnt been concentrating on his batting, because Shabbir was a decent #10 before the injury too and look at him now! can't "bowl", can't bat, can't field!

Great stuff from Afridi though, first game 36 with 3 wickets now 54 with 2 wickets, good going ! :19:

87 needed now with 5 wickets in hand. Come on Ireland can do this!

Anyone know how afridi vs Simon was

Don't think they faced each other much.

Afridi did edge a delivery from Jones but the ball fell short of slip.

just come back from the game. it was ok. afridi had alot of attitude had arrogance about him. but he was trying to be funny with all answers anyone asked him. and kept calling every gora that come by him gandus.

saqlain again was very nice 2 speak 2. today he was talking about how important it is to read our namaz and to get our prioritys right in life.

Just got back - nothing special really. A crap Glamorgan team v an ordinary Ireland consisting of 3 Aussies, 3 South Africans and 2 Pakistanis!

The inngs of the day was MArk Cosgrove's - got a 70 odd on his ODI debut for Aus last week, and a debut 70 odd today for Glamorgan - and a very handy bowler.

As for Afridi, got 2 late wkts - against tail-enders.

Afridi with the bat - again, quite a controlled inngs. YOu have to remember that Sophia Gdns has tiny straight boundaries - and he only just carried those - dont be fooled by any commentary that said 'hes cleared 80m! - I was also listening!'

Afridi did have a lot of arrogance in his batting - and was engaging in a fair bit of sledging with Alex Wharf and Cosgrove! Quite a few 'Miandad' style arm waving antics also - enjoyed that.

He didnt really stop and pose for photos/autographs - even though he was fielding 20 feet from me in the morning, so I dint hang around until after the game to get a chance to meet him - I imagine he would just ignore me and walk on; Saqlain was OK, and acknowldeged - he was sitting in the balcony literrally 6 feet away from me chatting away to their manager.

Handful of Pakistani fans turned up - I guess if you into Afridi, you will go home pleased.

Afrid hobbled slightly all day - very slight, but obvious.

Saqlain - I felt very sorry for him. Like a boxer who has had 1 fight too many.

Well I am twice your age - so I cant help that:)

I went back to my usual spot in the Cathedral Rd Stand after Afrid got out.

Simon Jones injury didnt look good - I think he'll miss another series!

yeh he limped off didnt look too good another shane bond imo.

Darn it Jonah!! He is turning out to be Shane Bond mark II, great if he plays but never seems to. I look forward to a full recovery from his knee injuries followed by a ruptured fingernail and chipped tooth that rules him out of the Ashes :|

Could you elaborate on this? :)))

What was his bowling like?
Very pacy - even on a pitch that has never suited him. Physically, he looked awesome - and chased 1 right upto the boundary, stopped it with a back-heel - the batsman was admiring his shot (which he thought was a 4), and he hurled in the fastest and flattest thunderbolt you have ever seen to run out the guy who was still middle of the pitch.

The fact that he is so athletic is his downfall - he has to chase and hurl himself at everything!

Oxy were you disapointed in Afridi's attitude towards players & fans compared to more of a humble Saqlain ?

Not really - its exactly what I expected. You have to remember that I am not a member of the 'OMG-Its the Beast' fanclub...

Give me a Ganguly anyday - a gentlemen on and off the pitch at Glamorgan

In prime condition for his modelling career then!

I'm not either, but I was thinking more on the lines of Afridi's performances lately may have humbled him slightly but I guess not.....

He's made a killing from 'Band Aid Elastoplast' in his time...

The way things are going, Jonah will be a full time model soon.

I don't think his injury is that bad (although Oxy may disagree).

As far as I can tell he just pulled up rather than going over a knee or ankle and we'd probably have heard more about it if it was obviously serious. He's got to be a doubt for the first test but hopefully it's just a similar injury to the one that kept him out of the start of the ODI's last summer.

I think our attack for SL will be Flintoff, Hoggard, Anderson, a 4th seamer (Plunkett?) and a spinner (Udal or Monty)

Its good enough for this series but Jones and Harmison are good bowlers especially at home, I want at least one of them back ASAP.

I actually thought it was cramp - and that it was just a precautionary measure to take him off - but there was afair bit of activity outside the physio's room - suggesting a 'Rooney-esque' moment...

Who knows?

I take it back!

All hail Nass and Bumble!

Ian Harvey hit 112 off only 79 balls today, smashing Charl Willoughby for 6-4-6-4-4 to bring up his hundred.

That's a proper beastly innings. ;-)

No, I think Afridi wearing the wrong jumper (No.17 Kidd) on the back battering the mighty Glamorgan over 40 yard boundaries was better....

That Mark Cosgrove looks some player.

Has all the shots and seems very mentally tough to bounce back from being dropped from the South Australia side for being overweight with such a huge number of runs.

I bet you'll enjoy watching him this summer, Oxy.

Never heard of himuntil we signed him - and then last week he makes his Aus debut and gets a 70 odd...then our other signing who I criticied (Franklin goes onto to score 140 odd!!! in a test match!)

Afridi showed some mercy on Glamorgan, you should thank him for doing that :16:

Isnt there a possibility that we could nick Cosgrove and pick him for England? I'm sure Billy was talking about him at some point.
