Oh bhai. Get your facts straight. In your blind Misbah love, you have always been so bitter towards Yousuf.
Yousuf was sent back from the UAE test series against South Africa late in 2010 on grounds of "poor fitness" -- he was in the squad -- and was never considered for the next series by a team management comprising Misbah and Waqar despite having decent numbers that year, Misbah in his insecurity and Waqar in his quest for "youngsters".
This, after a few turbulent months when he had players playing for the opposition in Australian tour, his subsequent ban from all cricket (when he even missed T20 WC which some other "banned" played did not) and surprise return in the middle of the English tour (when suddenly it dawned upon PCB that we need at least one experienced bat), where he was part of the group which had to endure traumatic match-fixing stress. After all this, he should have been given time to settle in the team and given confidence a country's great deserves, but he was unceremoniously sent back for an injury which wasn't even serious.
He never had "ego" for domestics. On return from UAE, he wanted to prove that he is still fit enough, and capable of scoring heavily, but politics and egos in captain and the team management there meant that he was not allowed to play the ongoing FC season (
http://www.news18.com/cricketnext/news/yousuf-leaves-domestic-side-after-rana-fallout-568963.html). There was no domestic FC season thereafter. Later, he scored a few fifties for Lahore Lions (meaning that he was fit again) in domestic OD cup, yet was snubbed from the world cup, in favour of the likes of Shafiq and Younis -- perpetual ODI failures, and from the Windies tour post-WC.
He didnt need domestics to "prove" to selectors back then that he is still good enough, but he played them, scored runs, proved fitness (on the pretext of which he was dropped), but was still ignored like Fawad Alam always is.
He continued playing county in 2011 (which he was during 2010 on which pretext he was recalled), was naturally totally dejected towards selectors, anyone at his stature will be, but when he publicly showed eagerness to return in 2012, he was asked by Iqbal Qasim to play domestics. Fine enough, he openly expressed he wants to play domestics in 2012, Dav Whatmore was interested in his selection as per reports, Yousuf even cleared a fitness test he gave alongside national players (on which basis he was dropped). To this Iqbal Qasim had this to say:
"He is training and that's what all players must do, but that doesn't mean he will be selected in the team," Qasim said. "If a coach is interested in a player he must convince the selection committee [first]."
Convince them by putting a gun barrel on them? We all know the relationship of the selectors and Dav during those times.
To add to this, he was literally barred from domestic FC competition that year, for lame excuses like “his name was not on the preliminary list Port Qasim Authority submitted us” (

That permission never arrived, to this day.
All this while Misbah never lobbied for his return, nor did anyone else in PCB.
He was allowed to play the Faisal Bank t20, Lahore Lions made him captain, but in strange turn of event, he relinquished captaincy to Hafeez, and was strangely dropped from the team in the next 2, 3 games of Lahore. (

Next year’s Quaide Azam trophy had no Yousuf as well, by that time he had perhaps moved on, became a pundit on Geo, and, naturally, very bitter towards Misbah and PCB.
All these years, all kinds of vitriol has been hurled against Yousuf, led by guys like Mamoon and MRNS, for being “bitter” and God knows what. Any sane person will be hell bitter after what he has had to bear 2010 onwards, muc more than what Yousuf is.
Send off or no send off, he has been hard-done-by by more than one person. Hope he is also involved (like Younis would be) somewhere in the U-19s or NCA as a give-back.
