Ahmed Shehzad - A star in the making

At the same time I want him to remain in team for long time. He has potential

Pakistan should take risk with him and give him one more series
 
Batting skills gone down? He averages 25 at a 65 SR for a reason - he's not that good. Just another tale of a player out of the team being overrated on PP. Will still give him a bit of a run due to the Farhat factor but don't expect you've uncovered some quality batsman.
 
Jamshed is way more solid and assuring at the other end.
 
Jamshed looked poor in the last game, he could have been out 4 times, but today he looks very good. Never a good idea to form a judgement based on too few games.
 
Not impressed at all.He seems to be another nicker like Tharanga of srilanka.No feet movement at all.won't think he will last long against quality fast bowling.
 
have given up on him. he clearly isnt the answer to the opening position. time to look elsewhere
 
He's missing everything. I am surprised he hasn't been dismissed yet given the way he's been batting. A perfect candidate for LBW really.
 
Useless overrated batsman with an extremely limited range of shots.

His career average and strike rate is an appropriate reflection of his ability.
 
Problem is he's played 44 balls and made only 17 runs and then gets out. He's wasted all those deliveries and wasn't able to get a move on.
 
He has no range of strokes at all.

Farhat Hafeez level potential. Not to be persisted with.
 
Checked his first class stats on cricinfo.didn't look great.the thing which amuses me is why people in pakpassion rates guys like shehzad,hammad and umar amin whose FC record is nothing special.
 
Only a matter of time before Bullet Drive booms in and blames Misbah for curbing the attacking instincts of such a "world class" player.

Or maybe he just isn't good enough and doesnt have the shots to rotate strike against this bowling? A career SR in the 60s shows he's never been one to blast the bowling around.
 
I'm sorry but this guy is totally overrated on these forums. He has zero foot movement and looks like a typical tape ball player. His average and strike rate are abysmal, even worse than Farhat's who is bad enough.

I think it's time to face up to the fact that the majority of batsmen we produce are technically deficient at this level. I hope and believe haris sohail is good enough though.
 
We should try Mohammad Irfan as opener I am confident he can score 10 runs that what our openers are doing any ways

May be one day Irfan becomes Galye .... if he hits its hard hit and out of ground

Bloody heck talk about giving a young gun a chance. Give him a break ffs, and let him play a period for 6 months.

Otherwise you deserve non other than Farhat, Maliks, Faisal Iqbals and co!
 
He has all the shots in the book but they stay in the book. He hasn't shown them on the pitch.

A cross batted slog after a dozen dot balls to get out of jail.

Clearly a batsman of very poor pedigree.

LA average of mid 30's on dull Pakistani wickets and against mediocre bowlers is a good indication of his ability.
 
i wish somebody could be bothered to list the posts of al those pp'ers that were prepared to throw themselves off a cliff to have him in the team and hailed him as the pakcric messiah.

now misbah's in again when the teams back is up against it, and so the children will be out again complaining that he cant score a triple century at a 300 strike rate.

The fact that hes got 2 centuries in LOI proves that he can play a long innings, we as a nation are too impatient calling for the heads after few outings
 
lol at people indirectly suggesting Misbah putting him pressure and made him play horribly. any player who comes back in to the team would try to play for his place. still good batsman overcome and perform. you cant give that as an excuse for failing again.
 
And what has he done before and after those 2 hundreds? He can't live on them forever.

No wonder he has such an awful average.

He needs to get those 30's and 40's too, an odd hundred sandwiched between 20 failures is useless.
 
problem with not the getting out early as this always happen to any team any players..

problem is 1st wicket is lost at 11th over at 38 runs at RR of 3.21 had Pak keep the run rate to minimum of 5 then score good but much better like 55 and would be way less pressure for next coming batsmen.


Look what happened therefore Nasir crippled in this same pressure, and now Misbah and Hafeez will eat next 15 overs and match will be gone by having slow RR

Negative ripple effect is not good for Pakistan
 
On such a pitch you can't afford to 'consolidate' in the first ten overs in such a manner. 3 an over in the first ten just builds so much pressure and then to add insult to injury they lose their wickets making the process it 'consolidation' redundant! Who creates these team tactics?!? We neither bat slowly and conserve wicket or play aggressively! Just so frustrating to watch as a fan.

range of strokes is least of his problems his issues are technical, fear of genuine pace which leads to poor footwork
 
it's okay to be aggressive or defensive... it's not okay to tuk tuk tuk tuk and then slog to get out...

Its amazing before Shehzad played this series, Pakistani fans were saying how exciting and special this player is. I think he's only good for T20s where he doesn't need to worry about his wicket.
 
shehzad is another failure at international level :facepalm:

hyped him too much , and he was opening his mouth alot before the series

Umar Amin is far better, should replace him

Not at all. His 2nd century came in with the SR of 70. And it was way better than NZ one.

Bring in Fawad Alam! Better fielder than Shehzad. Atleast he has an average of 38.
 
let's keep him for his fielding.. he saves 15 20 runs on his own and makes 20 runs.. so the average becomes 40 :D

So much hype again , i dont know how many chances does these players need to prove their selection :facepalm: and again we will be feeling farhat comeback here :facepalm:
 
Got a good start, too bad he couldn't capitalize. It it makes anyone in the forum feel better, he scored more then farhat would have :D
 
Like all Pakistani players....does not learn. He will get dropped and replaced with another idiot who does not learn ....and the cycle goes around,,,
 
has the talent but lacks brain to utilize it....

needs to get his front foot play sorted... too vulnerable against the full ball

I know he is talented, but he is brought at wrong time to the team, he is out of ODI team since 2011 and in Recent One day and 4 Day Domestic Competitions has not score enough runs to justify the place .. he should not have been included .. when he will b in form at domestic , draft him in then he will perform infact thats how every one will perform
Khurram, Azhar Ali and Sharjeel need to b looked at
 
He needs to score atleast a century in the last match to remain in the team for Zimbawbe tour.
