Ahmed Shehzad - A star in the making

ha ha ha people calling this horrible?

Its actually a slap on the face of all you haters.

None of you understand cricket if you think this was bad.

Yet you are one of the first ones to jump up & down to blast Misbah- even when he is scoring fifties.

When Misbah bats with a SR of 63, you call him selfish. When Shehzad does so, its sensible?

These Shahzad/Umar fanboys are known hypocriptes. Shazad plays a horribly slow, tuk tuk innings & BulletDrive labels it 'classy'

he should try and make use of the powerplay, that's what an openers role is. heck make afridi open

Ahmad Shahzad (The one we were looking for )

The guy is looking good, we all know how talented the bloke is, hes got decent technique good footwork and that Aggression which is required of am opener.

I know him quite well and I can tell you hes very competitive when it comes to cricket, and yes hes had a slow start but a few good innings and he will be striking near a run a ball, 2 centuries already despite being in and out he surely has the potential to become a very good opener for us.

Aggression? his strike rate is 65.

I needed a good laugh. Thank you :yk

Re: Ahmad Shahzad (The one we were looking for )

As I said mamoo we all know what he is capable of , the strike rate will only go up from here.

And yeh am glad I made someone laugh for a change.

Yeah great player ..

He's so agressive WoW what a S/R 64  and a wonderful technique which doesnt let him average more than 27

"Insert player name (the answer to our so and so position problems blah blah)"
where have I seen this thread before?

I am surprised with people's obsession with strike rates whereas i havent seen a single indian on their cricket website discussing them. Strange.

Made in china Tendulkar's best knock in international cricket since his comeback.

For the first time his shots are looking GREAT!

He's playing strokes that he never did in past. And with confidence. No pre-meditation either.

That's just one match, let's see how he does in future.

Not really the one are looking for. He's just an average player. Lets see what he delivers in future

Needs to continue to play his natural game as he has done so far but its highly unlikely now that Misbah is in.

His batting is extremely selfish and he should be dropped on that basis alone. The only reason why he's picked above the likes of Farhat is because he can provide some aggression at the top of the order. If he isn't doing that then any opener can score the odd fifty at a SR of 75.

If according to Qadir, Shehzad is the next Tendulkar, his own son must be the next Warne.

And I won't put that beyond Bullet Drive :shakib

You know, no one would troll you that much if you had ONE standard.

You have extreme double standard. You HATE Misbah, bash him on every chance and malign him with baseless allegations.

When someone criticize Shehzad/Wahab/Masood, you ask them not to HATE players and try to act as if you're innocent.
However, you often get the taste of your own medicine.

Just think over this, and stop these double standards :)

Trust me I don't hate Misbah. I like the guy. Good guy BUT his approach in certain situations is poor. And this is one of them.

BD is a proven hypocrite. Shezad 'our Sehwag' is tuk tukking away & BD is trying to tell us it's his natural game & classy

Not able to kick on - despite playing for 18 overs....
hopefully will learn - or perhaps not good neough against back of a length bowling on a flat pitch.

SR under 70 now, despite being there for almost 90 balls. He's also reached the point in his innings where he gets out.

Another selfish knock.

How many half centuries will he score a strike rate of 60's?

These aren't the 80's. He has to improve his strike rate.

Looks like he is only concerned at the moment with taking his pathetic average to a mediocre one.

Clearly a very poor batsman. Terrible footwork, doesn't play with soft hands, can't find the gaps and neither is he a good timer of the ball.

Extremely mediocre player who'll struggle throughout his career. Very little ability.

Two gears for these young guns:
slow fifties that are not good enough for a bit total or aggressive 20's that are no use.

He has the talent. Showed it when he debuted but since then he's been very defensive and selfish.

I genuinely LOL when people blame Misbah for Shehzad's tuk tuk. Clearly, they aren't aware of the fact that his strike rate was in the 60s before he played a single game under Misbah.

Seems to have caught the disease of throwing wicket away when well set

some people just cannot stop complaining or whining.. a player is making 50s yes a little slow but who else is there to replace him? imran farhat? imran nazir ? kamran akmal ?... they all have gotten plenty of chances we all know that. atleast give this guy a chance to fail before complaining. i would take a slow 50 better then a 0 from the other 3 any day.

I think lot of posters are talking nonsense regarding his SR in this match. After all, we are not watching matches on wickets where 700 runs are scored for 10 wickets in a day. As it looks this might be the only 50 of this match.

I think these UAE out fields are extremely slow, probably costing almost 40-50 runs in a match for every team. Some of his back-foot shots, either side of wicket were exquisitely timed - each one of those would have gone to fence in Indian grounds with lightning out field.

Still, I didn't expect that shot from him after 50, he is far better than this. I think, he is just a bit confused with his role - some one needs to tell him to bat out the overs, be selfish, shamelessly selfish after reaching 50 & play for his 100. He is so good with so many shots on either feet, SR 'll automatically be taken care off, if he reaches 100. What PAK need from openers is not bang bang 20s, someone to bat till 40 overs & keep the damage down to 3 wickets after the PP2. Rest can be taken care off by the bowlers.

His strike rate has been pathetic everywhere that is why his career strike rate is 64.

These aren't the 80's. He badly needs to improve.

Lol, some fans are never happy, he got his second 50 in two matches, has been the highest scorer in both matches, and yet some retard fans have thought of something else to complain about; that he's not quick enough...:)))

These 50's would have been hundreds in India. If you're devaluing these knocks, you know nothing about cricket and your view is as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Great knocks. Highest scorer on either side both games now.

Deserves MOTM.

I genuinely don't understand the hate for this guy on this forum. One of the most talented guys we have around, and his shots are a treat to the eye.. why some people here call him a future Farhat I don't know.

Mamoon has brainwashed entire forum with his nonsense.

People who understand cricket will no how special this bloke is.

He is batting like Sehwag today.

Wonder how much confidence it brings to your game when you are not under pressure because of your place.

Playing some breathtaking strokes which I havent seen from him in a long long time. His confidence is really high and this run in the side is starting to prove worthwhile.

I've always thought he's had talent but I didn't think he could cut it at international level because he always seemed abit nervous. But the way he's batted in the series and today especially has shown me he can convert the talent into the international arena masha'Allah

Some class shots today, insha'Allah he will get a century

It seems his strike rate of 65 shows how adaptable a batsmen he is, rather than it being a negative point.

Maybe F_C was right when he mentioned Shehzad as a potential double century maker :))

It takes brilliance by a non SA to be praised by Keppler. Keppler very impressed. Happy with his maturity. Only 21. Another top batsman on our hands.
