The ball was in Dilshan's hand. Even if YK would have made it, just what do you think was going to happen at the non-strikers end? To make a run you need to have both ends safe not just the one you're going to.

No it wasnt. Dilshan hesisated a little bit too before going after the ball. Watch the replay again. Butt could have stopped YK too rather than starting to run, then stopping and stepping back. YK was at fault for a daft call, but Butt's communication was non-existent there

Don't get me wrong I am for Malik to be captain, no probs. The reason I say he should open is because all the so-called openers we bring in are complete and utter rubbish and he effectively opens because most of the time he is at the wicket after 4-5 overs anyway.

He cant open because he has to rebuild the innings after we lose 2-3 quick wickets. Itsthe same reason Inzi batted at 5. Malik is our best ODI batsman.
