Nothing will be forgotten. Players work hard to win matches in PSL. There will be lots of opportunities for youngsters to show their ability.

Before PSL we were number 1 in Tests (just for a short while and were unbeatable in the U.A.E) Since the PSL circus started now we are at the bottom.
I read in Shaharyar Khan's book that he opposed the PSL because the damage it will do to our cricket. According to him it was Najam Seth who was strongly in favour of staging this circus. Once the PSL got the green signal Shaharyar Khan said goodbye to PCB.
That's what happens when you appoint a person like Sethi who has no knowledge of the history or traditions of the game.
I know that like all T20 leagues PSL had to exists but the hype for it and the tall claims that it will strengthen Pakistani cricket is ridiculous.
It doesn't if you are in denial. You first have to understand that a "first choice" team doesn't have to be the team that plays the most games collectively. Some Indian players played more games than most Pakistani regular players together. SO your argument pointing out the total number of games played is absurd. Look at the Pakistani team from the T20 WC in 2016 and compare it to the team now. DO the same with the Indian team. India retained most of the players and Pak has new faces. And those new faces are part of the regular team. This makes no sense what so ever.
I'm just getting a bit tired of these flash in the pan players who can hit the occasional six, score a quick 20 runs and now and then take a couple of wickets - rather give me a batsman who can put a price on his wicket and bat 100 overs and win or draw a Test match for his country.
I know this isn't what you'd be hoping for but as a fan, I'm with the PCB and the players. I couldn't care less about Test cricket. The PSL will be fun and importantly played in front of large crowds with an atmosphere like other top sports and not empty stadiums like the tedium that is Test cricket.Priorities.
As a Board, as a player, what are your priorities?
For the PCB and most Pakistani players, the PSL is the priority, they couldn't care less about Test cricket.
Nobody is interested honestlyPSL - the panacea for all Pak cricketing ills.
You say that now but once it starts the whole PP will be in it.Nobody is interested honestly

That's because the hardcore Pakistan cricket fans have decided that PSL is supposed to be a talent pipeline. That's not what PSL's primary goal is. It's supposed to be a local franchise league that appeals to average people/has mainstream appeal and allows the PCB to generate revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, ads. Everything else is secondary to that. Why wouldn't it be forgotten?
They are two separate things.
I think Pakistanis wake up in the morning and think of an excuse to try and drag down the PSL.
hardcore fans want (young) players to perform in FC (red ball) cricket and come trough a proper system. not on the basis of a couple of 6s!That's because the hardcore Pakistan cricket fans have decided that PSL is supposed to be a talent pipeline. Franchise cricket is a good system for t20 cricket.hardcore fans want (young) players to perform in FC (red ball) cricket and come trough a proper system. not on the basis of a couple of 6s!
You would think that would be the case but I don't think it ishardcore fans want (young) players to perform in FC (red ball) cricket and come trough a proper system. not on the basis of a couple of 6s!

I'm personally not interestedYou say that now but once it starts the whole PP will be in it.
At least your national team is performing and has been very consistent as compared to torture we have been witnessingAffirm.
The IPL is legendary in this regard.
Its never forgotton by fans in ICC tournaments nothing to do with PSL...... The same mistakes of not being flexible selecting non performing seniors are repeated over and over as Pakistan is weaker than the best teams on paper. Any chance of success is already eroded by the coach and captain.

By winning...... If Bangladesh won one or even made the final would you forget? Tests are different if your team made the final you would remember. Imagine if there was only a ODI WC every 4 years with some teams having no chance of winning it.So many ICC events. How many things fans manage to remember?
We now have 6 ICC events every 4 years.

bilaterals don't offer much purpose now in limited overs... They never did unless its a big series.I watch cricket not for Bangladesh. I watch cricket because I like cricket.
BD winning or losing doesn't impact my interest in cricket. If BD win, that's simply a bonus.
I think there are too many ICC events. 6 events in 4 years is an overkill. I prefer one WC every 4 years like it is in FIFA.
The way things are on the geo political front, I don't see any big name traveling to Pak for PSL.
This is going to be one damp squib so hopefully common sense prevails soon & there is a better geo political climate. Lions vs. Shaheens match was canceled & there's no news if the next one is going to take place or not.

Even IPL may get impacted depending on how Iran war progresses.
Many flights got disrupted.
Football also has continental tournaments every 2 years Euros Copa Africa Cup.... There's even a Nations league in Europe...... On top of big domestic leagues and Continental tournaments...... A lot more compared to cricket, its a different sport but there's plenty of competitons there. That doesn't mean we have a WC every single year. No other sport has this.
Football has just 1 WC every 4 years. Football is a much bigger sport than cricket.
Before 2000, cricket used to have just 1 WC every 4-5 years. Things were just fine. I think they should go back to that.

Nations League is an international league for European Countries.... Because of scheduling there's only one World Cup otherwise there would be another tournament in between.... Football has one format cricket has 3 formats there's a difference there too.Euro, Copa etc. are not World Cups. Those are regional tournaments like cricket's Asia Cup.
Nations League is for the clubs. It is not international football.
Football only has one WC and that is the FIFA WC.
Cricket has too many WCs and it dilutes interests.
