Are India repeating the same mistake Pakistan made in the 2003 World Cup?

India were and still are the red hot favorites but one thing has to be noted that majority of their players are well above 30 and age can catch up on them eventually.

Plus extremely dependant on two players Rohit and Kohli just llike Pak was on Inzi and Anwar if they get out it's possible to restrict them to below 250.

Today's performance and the whole series have proved that India might not be invincible in the WC

India were never the favourites for this World Cup. They have a lot of holes in the team. England, although inconsistent, are still the favourites.

That's what i mean when i say this world cup is open for these teams to win:
England, india, aus, nz,sa, pakistan (maybe wi).

You can't really predict.

Majority well above 30? Who apart from Dhoni or Jadav is well above 30? Batsmen are typically at their peak between 28 and 32 and Indian top order is at their peak. Bowlers are young and the unit has variety. Ind is a sureshot SF team along with Eng. I expect India and England to steamroll teams in league games. SF and final are anybody's game.

England got roughed up brutally by West Indies earlier this month.

India got exposed by an inexperienced Australia just now.

Nothing is sureshot here. India and England are still the strongest teams in ODI cricket, but expecting them to steamroll opponents on the back of these two humiliations is a big statement.

If India and England are going to steamroll teams in league games then why can't they do the same in SF and Final? The rules of the match don't change, everything remains the same. You're implying the pressure of knock-out matches is so much that teams that steamroll past others become just like them in the knock-out matches. If you say whoever plays well will win the SF and Final, that can be said about every match.

This Indian team is still at its peak. The 2003 Pakistan team had too many players who were washed up. Waqar the captain would never have been selected if not captain, it was no surprise there was a massive clean up of the 90's stars after that WC.

The mean age of the playing XI yesterday against Australia and which is the normal starting 11, is slightly above 28.

So they ain’t well into their 30’s.

Their top three is the best in the world and are at their peak and primes. Which coincides with the average ages for peak being 28-32.

Their bowling units in their early mid twenties and are all world class and the best in the world.

The only place India is slightly loose is in Dhoni. However on this day he is no liability. He’d single handedly win you the game.

India is the fave for the 2019 World Cup. A surprise loss to Australia does not change that. Just long how great their last 12 months has been in all formats in all conditions.

Overall India is the best side in the world alongside England

No

Kohli and Rohit have been in the form of their lives. Bumrah has been the best fast bowler from Asia and Kuldeep the best spinner.
