Love it or hate it but this is a pivotal moment in the history of the game and that of PCB. Much like 1980s when BCCI broke MCC’s hegemony over cricket and brought THE World Cup to the subcontinent.

Mohsin Maqvi has proven himself as the man of his words and a man of courage and conviction.

As for BCCI, life will go on and the money will keep coming in but this has been a bitter reality check and a defeat for them.

Its NAYA PAKISTAN under the legend and defender of Islamabad Mohsin Naqvi saab. The great pretender did nothing in his rule of 4 years. Naqvi Saab brought down the Goliath of Shah/Modi Kabaal in one amazing tactical maneuver. This will taught as a case study in Harvard etc Business schools for decades!! :salute

Unbelievable achievement. I was thinking of starting a similar thread. Naqvi has given a blow which will reverberate across the global cricket administration. He has made it very clear that BCCI can absolutely be brought down and can be dismantled if PCB wishes to do so. I honestly don't know how BCCI and Indian cricket will survive this period. We will have to learn from what PCB did during its no international cricket at home years and SA's apartheid years to learn to survive.

Problem is even if BCCI somehow survivea this phase, they will be sidelined due to immense amount of growth and money PCB is getting from PSL. If BCB joins then it will most probably be a deathblow to both Indian cricket and IPL considering the immense talent, money and growth involved in BPL and BD cricket. Hope Naqvi doesn't see that opportunity and grab that, especially with anti India movement going on in BD

Overall scary tims for Indian cricket and BCCI has to navigate this period very carefully. I am keeping my fingers crossed and all bharityas have to pray for Indian cricket survival here.

We are witnessing a golden era of Indian pettiness for sure.
Jai Hind.

By skipping the ICC Champions Cup in Pakistan, India has truly won over the hearts of everyday Pakistanis, who now admire India even more for derailing the first major tournament they were going to see at home in 30 years. What a masterstroke! India has cemented its image as a responsible, mature regional leader, while also miraculously reducing anti-India sentiment in Pakistan. The "terrorists" are now quaking in their boots, and we’re officially one step closer to regional peace and prosperity. Oh, and as a bonus, BJP and Modi get a political boost back home too. Genius move all around!

Oh, absolutely! A 'pivotal moment' indeed—like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic while pretending it's the maiden voyage of a luxury liner. PCB's 'victory' is truly inspiring, especially when it’s funded by BCCI’s revenues that they can’t live without.

Let’s not forget that courage and conviction go a long way—just not long enough to pay the bills without someone else's wallet. But hey, if calling it a win keeps the morale high, who are we to burst the bubble? Reality checks are overrated anyway!

BCCI must stay cautious. I sense a PCB led coup in ICC and the establishment of a new world order in the PSL era.
It’s possible. It is very much possible. I can see it coming. PCB doing this stand off and humiliation intentionally to finally go for IPL, BCCI’s jugular.

If you think about it all this is well planned and professionally coordinated. For every move that BCCI might make, PCB has thought through and has several options few steps ahead.

Take for eg, how well they have moved PSL to the same window as that of IPL. This allows them to pick up great players like Root, Smith, Labu, etc to the PSL as they are not playing in IPL. This results in not only reduction of IPL’s quality of cricket but instantaneously impvoves both quality and status of PSL

Also, by positioning PSL in the same window they are allowing the wealthy western cricket lovers to compare the appreciate very high quality of cricket played in PSL compared to mediocre quality in IPL. It will be a direct comparison and IPL will come out distant second. With upgraded stadiums and facilities, PSL can dazzle In the world stage while IPL withers silently

I hope someone in BCCI is noticing and getting prepared for this onslaught by PCB. Otherwise we will be left with holding a begging bowl in couple of years as all the sponsors and viewers go to PCB and PSL while Indian cricket struggles to capture anyone.

For now it's more like a confusing era for the PCB in which they are even unable to finalize their coaching staff.
