Sometimes the system is so skewed against a minority or people that a step such as positive discrimination or quota system can help.

But is that the right way to approach things in Pakistan?

Maybe first of all there should be a constitution that can be applied to all citizens universally.

Yeah Pakistan definitely needs some kind of affirmative action that helps out ethnic and religous minorities. The PCB should also do the same and promote players from remote areas and minority communities.

But when does it stop? People start taking this for granted.

One look at India should tell you how (un)-successful this idea will always be.

People lining up to be classified as Most Backward always takes the cake for me.

We have had positive discrimination since the last 70 years....

It's gonna take a long time for under represented minorities to catch up, we've had this in America since the 70s or earlier and there's no sign of stopping. There will always be a group that is marginalized to some degree on any country at any time so in theory affirmative action shouldn't stop, ever. It's the govt and society's duty to help out the lowest common denominator. So your question isn't the mindset you go into helping somebody.

Yeah that explains why low caste, ethnic and religous minorities, women, people with disabilities and people in remote areas are dirt poor in Pakistan.

That's cause of India's poor governance, high caste people have still kept their privilege in India and they're still complaining about affirmative action lmao.

rural/urban quota in sindh set the base from which mqm sprouted. so would have to think no.

Quota system should always be economically driven not caste/religion driven.. Also it should never be permanent as in it should be diminishing for e.g. 20% quota for 20 years for People earning less than this and then in that 20 years steps should be taken to drastically reduce number of people falling under this bracket so for next 10 years 10% quota something along these lines...

If you make it religion/caste base you are inviting trouble for yourself as a nation..

Lol you cant expect anything to change in Pakistan as long as the extremist religious clerics are in power. They are the ones that control the streets of Pakistan, not the Politicians.
