Not very angry with the team but I am not personally satisfied, we should have beaten this Australian team 2-0. This test match showed that the Australians benefited massively in the previous test because the pitch conditions had massively flattened by Day 4 and Day 5 with nothing in it for the spinners which made it easy for the Australian batsmen to see out Abbas and comfortably block the spinners. But that test match was lost because of poor captaincy by Sarfaraz in the first two sessions of Day 5 and the non-performance of Wahab Riaz.

But its good Sarfaraz attacked in the second test with his field placings. Overall I feel it was a missed opportunity for a more convincing victory against a horrible Australian team who shockingly did not prepare for reverse swing at all for this tour and seemed too focused on the Pakistani spin attack.

But Pakistan deserves full credit for the manner in which they came back from 57 for 5 in the first session where the pitch was offering substantial turn, pace and bounce to Nathan Lyon.

The drawn Test was a blip, but this is Pakistan cricket and we don't do things as expected so will take the series victory and be satisfied with it.

Not at all.

1-0 is like a face saving effort - bare minimum, specially after winning both toss. Most discomforting is that, they saved 1st Test batting 140 overs & last innings bowling tactics was questionable - shouldn't be the case for home teams. Don't think AUS would have save that Test from that position, on that wicket against any other 8 countries.

Should have won the series 2-0. We have lots to improve on in test cricket. Sarfraz is still a worry long term. 1 good game doesn t change that. Also starting to worry about Yasir form. Hasn't look as affective in recent series .

The drawn 1st test was not a blip and was down to the following pathetic cricket played by pakistan.

1) 222/1 on 1st day and dominating game after 70 overs then all of a sudden Azhar Ali decides a 18 ball 80 was need to slow the whole inns down. Pakistan should have reached 500 at tea on day 2 at latest with start they had, instead we got near enough 35-40 overs of snail pace batting and had to bat 5.5 sessions for 480. No demons in pitch etc.. yet in overall picture if game 15-20 vitals overs lost we could have used to be bowling.

Then at end of day 3 we decide to send a night watchmen in when we are on top, another negative move and waste of time, another period of go slow batting occurs end of day 3 and start of day 4.

Then we get negative captaincy, poor use of reviews, not using abbas at start if day 5, in and out fields which allowed Aussie batsmen to release pressure, yes two Aussie batsmen played well but it was pakistans cintinual negative attitude in large chunks of game what cost a 2 nil win.

We got the same negative batting again from Azhar in 2nd inns of 2nd tests grinding inns to halt then players selfishly looking for personal milestones rather then trying to get quick runs when miles ahead.

Not bad. Losing a test would have been disastrous but i am glad boys played well after all.

This is what I mean though, as highlighted above, our cricket can be totally brainless at times, no more exemplified by the Azhar Ali run out.

Getting bowled out on the first day for 282 helped Pakistan massively. Had they not been bowled out, we would have batted at a snails pace scoring 400 runs in 2 days and giving the bowlers too much to do in very little time.

Good point actually. I genuinely feel that we should always look to bowl first on the flat UAE pitches. It has a lot of juice on day 1 and you can aim to get the opponent out for a lower score and bat big.

bowling lineup without wahab was unbalanced

the current bowling line up is perfect and can be deadly in SA,AUS

Are you sure? Let's be realistic Aus and India have both let teams score 400+ In the 4th innings in the past few years.

Not sure when - even if so, not in Asia or not with 140 overs at hand ..... and definitely not against a team missing their best 2 batsmen.

Although 2-0 would have been more reflective of where the two teams stand in UAE type conditions, I would happily take a 1-0 test series win. Aus absolutely dominated us from 1995 to 2013 where we couldn't win a single test series against them. I think we probably won only 2 tests during that period against Aus. So, I am really happy to win back-to-back 2 home test series against them.

More than the 1-0 result, I am unhappy that we still have the same question marks that we had before the test series. Haris and Babar are still non consistent, Azhar and Asad haven't stepped up to the next level and we don't have a test class bowler except Abbas. Yasir seems to be struggling and I will reserve my judgement on Bilal Asif and Mir Hamza. Bowling is a major worry heading into SA test series.

1-0 result does not reflect our dominance in this series. We were head and shoulders better than Aus - barring the 1st session on day 2 of the 2nd Test.

We should have handsomely won the 1st Test as well barring a miracle knock by Usman Khwaja.

Should have been 2-0 but we played exceedingly well in the second test, got some much-needed confidence and won the series so I'm happy.
