Rauf Klasra has revealed in his recent program that according to his ‘credible’ sources, the army has refused Shahbaz Sharif’s plea bargain for Nawaz Sharif. He said that the various news sources confirmed that Shahbaz Sharif had suggested both Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz to disappear themselves from the stage by leaving the country, while he can go by his strategies here. Klasra says that army has reportedly given a cold shoulder to Sharifs saying that the matter should be dealt between them and the court’s, while the establishment will provide no aid in any aspect of the process.
Klasra further hinted at the possible reasons for the absence of Chaudhary Nisar from the entire scenario. He said that Nisar played no active role in the secret Sharif-establishment talks. Due to Nisar’s strong army background, his reputation and image in the establishment is comparatively better. Klasra says that due to that old link, the institution does have a ‘’soft corner’’ for him, which is why he has previously played the role of liaison between the army and Nawaz Sharif.
However, due to some differences and some attacks that have allegedly wounded Nisar’s self-respect, he has decided to stay away from the matter. He further added that Nisar contradicts with the party leadership on a number of reasons and the transference of leadership from Nawaz to Shahbaz will make no significant difference as Nawaz continues to operate the party at the back end.
