We didn’t know we were begging before—we were told by all previous admins that Pakistan was simply asking for what was fair. Now Mohsin Naqvi draws the line: no talks without equality, no cricket without respect.

“As far as India-Pakistan relations are concerned, any talks with our neighbours will only take place on the basis of equality. We will not beg for negotiations. Whatever happens moving forward will be rooted in mutual respect and equal footing.”

We were asking what was fair and yet travelled there for World Cup and later on, they denied coming to Pakistan for intl events. But good to see such firm stance now - not going to India anymore for Asia Cup and forthcoming icc and acc events. *** for tat.

We should be sensible in negotiations. In almost every negotiation both parties are not equal. Entering a negotiation on the basis of equality and demanding equality can be quite naive. PCB's aim should be to extract as many beneficial arrangements for them as possible, whilst also acknowledging and respecting India's place in the cricketing eco-system. We are not India and do not have the power to dictate, however, we do bring something to the table and shouldn't be pushed around either.

India holds some leverage not just over Pakistan, but over cricket. That's why tournaments are titled to suit the Indian market. There is no harm in acknowledging it and accepting it. I just hope the PCB do not enter negotiations with the aim of presenting themselves as India does, we don't have that clout.

Didn't realize we were begging before? We were given the impression that we were demanding compliance from India

We did and this is why you are forced to play Women’s cricket and t20i worldcup matches outside of India. Cheers.
Good! Continue the policy. By the way, T20 WC matches outside of India? I know that's what's been decided, but do you think it will actually happen?

Such statements don't help anyone.

PCB needs to take a more pragmatic approach in talks. We do not have the financial muscle of India, nor has our cricket been of the same standard lately, languishing in the middle or near the bottom of every format. If we were at least ranked among the top three teams, we would have some leverage in talks.

Successful negotiations embody a balanced 'give and take,' where both parties exchange concessions to reach a mutually beneficial and respectable outcome.

'Don't beg and don't be ignorant'

Chalo ji atleast he is agreeing that PCB was begging up-until now. Ohhh wait I forgot that this statement might compute differently when Lahori Lajeek is applied. :giggle:

Naqvi has already walked the talk by forcing BCCI to move the entire Asia Cup to the UAE and not just Pakistan’s matches.

Naqvi 1:0 BCCI.

He has done quite a few things well when it comes to thwarting attempts at Indian bullying and deserves a lot of credit.

You can sense the tone shift from the Indian side, especially their fans, it has gone from hum ye kar dein ge, hum wo kar dein ge, isolatate kar dein ge, etc to lame jokes.

Ideally he should appoint a director of cricket that can report to him directly and on cricketing affairs. Unfortunately, his day-to-day running of cricket is greatly influenced by people like Aqib.

Nice, so now Pakistanis can see their team lose to India in SL instead of India and the crowd will again be an Indian crowd considering how close it is to India and visa free access. Cheers.

Delusional posters don't know different between hybrid model and Co-hosted tournament :klopp :kp

Real test for saviour Naqvi will be the 2026 T20 WC.

I don't think this Asia Cup in UAE proves anything. BCCI never cared enough for this tournament to host it. Even 2018 was held in UAE.

2026 World T20 Will be co- hosted by india and Lanka so Pakistan can Play their matches in Lanka.

Pakistan don't have any card's to play against india. #Fact

Actions speak louder than words.

Pakistan have to make their moves in the upcoming events.

Moderator should clarify, as headline and OP says two different things

Questioned about sporting ties with India during a press conference in Lahore, Naqvi said: “I think we are very clear that whenever talks are held will be on an equal footing with India and there will be no more begging for negotiations. That time has passed and whatever will happen will be on the basis of equality.”

If it wasn't already made clear by Ramiz Raja's infamous "Indian market is running Pakistan cricket" comment , it is pretty clear that PCB relies a little too much on ICC revenue shares to stay afloat in its current state. And we all know where the bulk of those revenues came from..

No wonder the "begging" word is used by saviour Naqvi which is irking some sensitive posters here.

I am talking about the India Pakistan game (if both the teams are once again placed in the same group as usual).
