164 all out.

19 wickets on day 1.

11 wickets so dar in Day 2.

But yes Sir what a beautiful cricket and pitch 🤡🤡🤡🤡

:klopp :kp

What terrible batting, look at how South Africa are applying themselves in difficult conditions in India and look at these clowns trying to drive everything and anything.

What a mockery of test cricket and this is really T20 cricket being played in a test arena.

It is a beautiful pitch

Bowlers made the batsmen to make mistakes

Even You would have gotten 10 wickets on Calcutta pitch against South Africa because of the inconsistent bounce

The bounce is consistent on this Australian pitch. It's just a high bounce but consistently high.

I have a feeling, the Aussies are going to take their time and try and make England toil. Hopefully the England bowlers are fit enough.

What a test match.

The batting has been atrocious but great viewing.

Maybe this pitch sux.

3 innings at Eden Gardens - 171.2 overs

3 innings at Perth - 112.5 overs

But sir death of test cricket at Eden garden and long live cricket at Perth 🤡🤡🤡🦶🦶🦶🦶

:klopp :kp

Poor start from Jofra, doesn’t seem up for it second innings.

Mediocre pace, maybe stiff

Tough, tough batting conditions. Need better batting pitches. These kookaburras will do something even on flat wickets.

England can't sustain bowling long spells . The Aussies can

Even a 10 year old cricket fan tell you this is terrible pitch for test cricket

Any Aussie or English cricketer who can't take the pressure of playing in the Ashes shouldn't even be a cricketer in the first place.
We will see how they fare across the course of the series.

On day one both sides wanted to set a marker. When a team is psychologically not in a good place collapsed can happen too. This shakiness carried into day 2.

I suspect that this series will end a few careers on th Aussie side.

The good thing about a 5 match series is that it gives good players time to regroup and push on, and hopefully players like Smith and Root will be at their best soon.

These up & coming Aus players are not test standard.

Hope they don’t resort to Indian tactics & start pitch doctoring in future to win.

Root never Scared a test century in australia because of pressure. So according to your logic he can't perform under pressure , isn't it? :klopp :kp
It will be a topic of discussion when his career ends for sure. Will it make him a bad player - no. He has performed in pressure situations in the past but if he fails again in an away Ashes it will be a black mark against his name yes.

Not sure why the pressure aspect is difficult to understand.

This is why I don't rate these glass made pacers. They come in bowl great in 1st innings and then go missing in the next.

Same with Bumrah. No wonder he doesn't have a 10fer
You gotta wonder how some of the dressing room conversations go in the England camp.

The bowlers must ask the batting side what the hell they are playing at. We got us into a good position and you threw it away, now we need to charge in again.

Archer is quite a temperamental guy. Wood has been training like an astronaut for 2 years. It must have some frictions in the dressing room, when the batting underperforms.

Khawaja injury might be a blessing in disguise for Australia. Stick with Head as an opener and can bring Webster back down the order with Khawaja going out. Also means they can retain Marnus at #3.

Absolute dire from the batsman. The bowling group cant keep on bailing these clowns out. But I guess this shows the quality of the batsmanship since T20 effect has gripped world cricket. Sad!

English bowlers are down on energy here. The terrible batting probably knocked the wind out of their sails.

Really disappointed with this. We have virtually thrown away a Position of Real Strength. Theres absolutely no excuses for this. Abysmal from England!

Basically England's most promising team of all time is lesser than probably the second weakest Aussie team of my life time.

Ball has been setting up nicely. All bowlers apart from Archer have been a bit too short.

All English pacers also seem to be out of gas.

So this test match can finish today. England are good advocates for 2-day tests. Their batsmen don't last more than 30-40 overs anyway.

Very Poor approach by Stokes and the Bowlers in this innings. England Tail was comfortable against the short stuff. The wicket is predictably true. Where's the discipline line and length bowling gone!

The wheels have come off it seems.

No Starc or Hazelwood, this was England's moment to lay down the gauntlet.

But the batting under delivered.

England have nobody else but themselves to blame. A Perth Test win was there on the plate but they didn't put the hammer down in the 2nd innings.

Generally this pitch flattens out on Day 2 and 3 as well.

Long series ahead and Australia's batting is also fragile, but feels a big missed opportunity with no Cummins and Hazlewood.

This is a poor game of "Test" cricket. Poms reckon Bazball is saving Test cricket. If this game is anything to go by they're deluded :kp

We could have won the BGT in Aus third time in a row if it weren't for the clutch Travis Head. 🥲

94 runs needed from 26 over. They should extend game for another 30 minutes to finish the game today. :kp

I blame Jofra. The opening bowler sets the pace and the standard. He came out very lethargic in the first over - 133k.

Very poor. Lift yourself up.

This is why he got criticised in the past, things haven’t changed

England practiced well against India to surrendered against Australia. :klopp :kp
