Asia Cup 2016 | Sri Lanka beat UAE by 14 runs

It's T20s so anything can happen. Just like Nehrah and Bumrah who would otherwise be beaten black and blue can feel like they are the new Wasim and Waqar.

Bumrah did great on a flat pitch against Aussies... So exclude Bumrah from there :)

So, can UAE chase 130-150? Typically what I've seen from associate teams is that they have good opening batting, but the skill level drops off heavily after #4 at best.

Naa he'll just get out after few balls. He can only score quick 20-25 runs lol.

That's exactly why he should've been sent up. He would've kept the momentum going and get SL over a 100 in quick time, then the rest could cruise to 150.

Bumrahh had never been beaten black and blue in international cricket, bumrrah isn't your average bowler but whatever i am sure you would like to believe otherwise

This is the last time I saw Nehra play for India. He was making a comeback then as well hitting ferocious speeds of 124 kph. Was pretty sure I'd never see him playing for India again. But credit to him he came back and owned Bangladesh yesterday. But Tamim and Soumya would destroy him on any other day that's for sure and the same goes for BUM-ro as well.

Imagine what UAE could do if their top 25 players get 2 years off, focusing just on cricket ?

So 130 is the target for UAE, a stiff one

This is a fine effort by UAE despite not fielding so well.

SL batting approach was very bizarre, though.

Target of 130. Awful batting by Sri Lanka, let's see if Kulasekara, Chameera, Malinga, and Herath can save them.

He played 90+ ODIS for SL batted at #4 for majority of the time, still oly averaged 90. He is a dumb player.

Do you have some comprehension issues, I clearly said bumrrah, didn't I ?

UAE captain said at the toss that if they can get them to a score below 130, they can chase it. He got his wish and its 130 to chase!

They would be monsters. But they will need to find replacements for Javed and Naveed, both are over 35.

They should talk to Emirates Airlines and see if they can get a sponsorship-it would also be a great way to promote cricket to an international audience given how many fly Emirates.

Sri Lanka always produce mysterious bowlers which are a nightmare for batsmen of minnow teams. Someone like Ajantha Mendis could have taken a 5 wicket haul for 10 runs against UAE batsman.

Fully expect Lankan bowlers to choke they UAE Batters miserably.

The point is Indian pacers all have a one-season grace period after which they all become trundlers and hitting fodder. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a prime example. Let's see if Bumrah can buck the trend. Shami seems to be the only recent Indian pacer to avoid the curse.

But Emirates are very selective on who they sponsor. They want to sponsor Arsenal not UAE cricket team. They care about their reputation.

C'mmon UAE. Hope UAE wins. More competition is great for cricket.

Hence I support smaller teams like UAE, AFG, BD etc and wants them to do well.

70-30 to srilanka but let see

I would go one step further and say 90-10 in favor of SL win here.

Very rarely we have witnessed associate level teams chase down and win games against major teams. SL has got pretty good bowling attack for this track. I would still believe in them getting better of UAE batsmen.

They are, but it's UAE national team. At some point I think they will look at an endorsement if UAE continues to progress. Beating Sri Lanka would be a huge sign of tangible progress for UAE and would probably get the airline watching.

Not really, it will be just seen as an upset. Kenya made it to the 2003 WC Semis. That was it. UAE is a monarchy, so the king or prince might throw in some cash.

I should have gone for 100-0 in favor SL winning this game, instead of 90-10 that i gave them earlier

10-12 overs , game will
Over

UAE should tuk tuk their way to a closer target and starts hacking from there.

Certainly you are right.I thought UAE will give them some fight but now it is looking done and dusted

A semblance of batting skill shown by Usman with that good shot for 4 off Malinga

Another very poor shot from UAE batsmen leading to his own downfall

Kula strikes

That was nice shot by usman

These guys are obviously not used to the bounce that this pitch has... they will struggle even more against Chameera's pace.

Man, this is very depressing stuff.

I want UAE to do well. Unfortunately, they just do not seem to posses a batsmen who could face this type of bowling attack and score runs.

16 for 4

Kula strikes again

Uae , dont know how they even qualify for asia cup

Deano going all guns blazing in commbox, a breath of fresh air compared to always politically correct + evasive (sitting on the fence) Harsha.

Athar sounds so irrelevant in the commbox dominated by Deano and Harsha, right now.

Some day, associates will learn how to bat. Until then, they can't equal Full Members.

UAE really is Pakistan C, right down to the ridiculous batting collapses at the top of the order.

Bring on Chameera, finish the match and use the RR to your advantage. This is not the place for match practice.

LOL Shaiman is from Sialkot.Akash has no clue

Well it's over now for us unless Mathews bowl all four overs

I hope that trundler doesn't come on to bowl his third over now
