Aston Villa have emerged as genuine top-four contenders this season, sitting 3rd in the Premier League table after 21 games. With 43 points on the board, Unai Emery’s side are firmly in the Champions League race — and showing no signs of slowing down.

Despite financial constraints due to PSR regulations, Villa have maintained consistency through tactical discipline and squad cohesion. Their European campaign adds another layer of challenge, but Emery’s experience in managing dual fronts is proving vital.

The likes of Ollie Watkins, Douglas Luiz, and Pau Torres have been central to Villa’s charge, while the team’s defensive structure has made them one of the hardest sides to break down. With key fixtures ahead, the next few weeks could define their season.

With 13 wins, 4 draws, and just 4 defeats, Villa have built their campaign on consistency and a clear identity. But with European fixtures looming and rivals strengthening, can they sustain this push? Is this finally the season Villa break into the top four — or even dream bigger?

Can Villa sustain this momentum and secure a historic top-four finish — or even more? The belief is growing in Birmingham.

After the results yesterday, it’s HUGE game against Everton at Villa Park this afternoon

Everton are missing some key players so in theory it should be straight forward @ home, just got to hope Grealish is not up for it and more focussed on staying in Brum to go clubbing Sunday night
:wasim

A quivering wreck on my end, regardless, the fact we are here after where we were a few seasons ago is madness, the championship campaigns are still fresh in my mind.

Villa need to lock off central midfield, and have a big first half, our bench is a weak point until we bring in new players.

Dont worry about Grealish lol. A proper One trick pony. Ndiaye, if available, much more of a threat.

What a botchmania it was from us - we’re not competing for the title unfortunately - I would have been more onboard with it if we beat Everton, I don’t know what to say if Arsenal don’t win this season, there is nobody really applying any pressure on you @Amjid Javed

I think if make CL spots again it will massively help you. The fact you had to sell Malen in this TF, showd how much the extra CL money means to Villa. Not making CL last season massively effected your ability to strengthen squad. So if yoh do make top 4 now, it's will mean you can add extra players without pressure to sell

'He's my son' - Emery on pushing Tielemans

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery played down a heated touchline incident with midfielder Youri Tielemans after substituting him during the Europa League win at Fenerbahce.

Tielemans was replaced in the 92nd minute as Villa hung on to a 1-0 lead in Istanbul.

He jogged to the touchline and reached out to shake Emery's hand, but the Spaniard became animated and pushed Tielemans in the chest.

A smiling Emery told TNT Sports: "He's my son."

Victory secured Villa's place in the last 16 with a game to spare, thanks to Jadon Sancho's first goal for the club.

"It might be innocent, but I don't like that," former Villa defender Joleon Lescott said on TNT Sports.

"Regardless of what it was for, if it was the other way around and the player refused to shake his manager's hand, there would be uproar, and his mentality and professionalism would be questioned.

"I'm sure it's more innocent than it looks, but I don't like the look of it."

Emery, who has won the Europa League a record four times as a manager, was managing his 100th game in the competition and said he is "dreaming" of a fifth title.

Aston Villa confirm Tammy Abraham signing

Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Tammy Abraham on a permanent transfer.

The England international has joined Villa from Besiktas.

Abraham was an integral part of the Villa side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2018/19, netting 25 league goals and scoring the crucial penalty in the shoot-out win over West Bromwich Albion that took the club to the Play-Off Final at Wembley.

His goalscoring exploits that season saw him become the first Villa player since Andy Gray in 1976/77 to hit the back of the net 25 times in a campaign.

After leaving Villa Park, he went on to win the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea before helping AS Roma lift the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Douglas Luiz joins Aston Villa on loan

Douglas Luiz will continue his adventure in the Premier League. The Brazilian midfielder, who returned early from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest after making 14 appearances, now moves to Aston Villa, again on loan, until the end of the season.
