People are being kidnapped from KPK and Peshawar as well. What is the point of PTI have a two thirds majority in KPK and having their own CM Ali Amin Gandapur if they can't prevent the establishment from doing whatever they want in KPK?

Absolutely. Gandapur Talks a good game

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday ordered the Lahore police to recover YouTuber Aun Ali Khosa, who was allegedly “taken into custody by some unknown armed men”, by August 20

A day ago, Aun’s wife Binish Iqbal filed a petition in the LHC, a copy of which is seen by Dawn.com, claiming that her husband was “in the unlawful and illegal custody of the law enforcement authorities”.

Iqbal stated that the whereabouts of Aun were unknown and she feared for his “safety having strong apprehension that his husband has been a victim of enforced disappearance.”

Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi heard the petition today and ordered the Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO) to produce the “abducted” artist in the court on August 20.

Meanwhile, Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran has said that the police had not received any complaint about the alleged abduction of Aun, adding that the police would investigate the matter after receiving any complaint.

The petition
According to the petition, Aun was a “digital content creator, a writer, and a dignified comedian/artist having a massive following of 137,000 subscribers on YouTube”.

It claimed that at 2am on August 15, a dozen police officials and “men with masked faces in plain clothes” barged into his apartment after breaking apart the entrance door.

The heavily armed men confiscated Aun’s phone, laptop, computer system, and digital camera, the petition further detailed.

“The petitioner followed them as they left in a Fortuner and a Black Revo double cabin vehicle. After manhandling him and shoving him into the Black Vigo parked outside the flat, they fled,” the petition alleged.

It added that the petitioner repeatedly asked the men the reason for picking him up but they refused to provide any information and left.

Appeal to spread the word
Taking to platform X on August 15, the artist’s brother, Ali Sher Khosa, said Aun had been “taken into custody by some unknown armed men from his flat in Lahore”.

He asked people to pray for Aun’s recovery while also requesting everyone to spread the word.

Absolutely. The LHC had some respect back under Justice Shazad but he was promoted( to get him out of the way) to the SC so that the mafia could retake control of the LHC.

FIR filed in abduction of YouTuber Khosa

An FIR has been lodged against unidentified suspects in the abduction of YouTuber Aun Ali Khosa from his Lahore home on the night of August 14, 2024.

The complaint was filed by his wife, Benish Iqbal, at Ichhra police station.

Benish reported that eight to ten armed and masked men forcibly entered their home, abducting Aun and seizing his mobile phone, laptop, and camera. She has called for the swift recovery of her husband through legal means.

According to Benish, the intruders posed as security personnel, claiming their car had been hit. When she went to the door but did not open it, Aun peeked through a curtain only to see 10-12 men, some in black uniforms and masks, break into their home.

The suspects allegedly stole Aun's laptop, video equipment, and other valuables, and damaged items within the house. When Benish tried to resist, the men claimed they were responding to a harassment complaint against Aun at the local police station.

The alleged abduction occurred just hours after Aun Ali Khosa had uploaded a satirical song on YouTube titled "Bill Bill Pakistan."

The song, which swiftly went viral, was a clever twist on the iconic patriotic anthem "Dil Dil Pakistan," originally performed by the late Junaid Jamshed.

Aun's rendition struck a chord with the public's growing exasperation over soaring electricity prices and the economic straits tightening around Pakistan.

The bold critique of the government's economic missteps hit the nail on the head, resonating deeply with thousands who shared it across social media platforms, including TikTok.

The song's release on August 14, coinciding with Pakistan's Independence Day, gave it a major boost.

Mere hours after its debut, Aun was reportedly abducted, and the video was promptly pulled from YouTube and other social media platforms.

Following the abduction, Benish immediately sought help from the local police. However, her initial attempts to file an FIR were reportedly met with resistance.

Faced with the police's alleged inaction, she had no choice but to take the matter to the Lahore High Court, which has since instructed the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) to ensure Aun's safe return by August 20.

In her petition to the court, Benish described her husband as a "digital content creator known for his satire and humour," highlighting that Aun had built a significant following on YouTube.

The petition also describes the grim details of the abduction, with masked men holding the family at gunpoint before forcibly taking Aun away in a double-cabin Vigo, followed by the rest of the assailants in a Fortuner SUV.

The incident has triggered an outcry among human rights organizations and the general public. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed deep concern over Aun's disappearance, calling it a "troubling development" in a country where freedom of speech is increasingly under threat.

Amnesty International has also joined in, urging authorities to expedite Aun's recovery and ensure his safety.

YouTuber Aun Ali Khosa, who was reportedly abducted on August 15, has safely returned home, his counsel confirmed on Monday

Last Friday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) directed the Lahore police to ensure Khosa's recovery by August 20.

The order followed a petition filed by Khosa's wife, Binish Iqbal, who claimed that her husband was in the "unlawful and illegal custody of law enforcement authorities."

Iqbal had expressed grave concerns for her husband's safety, fearing that he was a victim of enforced disappearance.

The petition highlighted that Khosa, a well-known digital content creator with 137,000 YouTube subscribers, was taken from his apartment in the early hours of August 15.

According to the petition, around a dozen police officers and unidentified men in plain clothes forcibly entered Khosa's residence, seizing his phone, laptop, computer system, and digital camera.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) had voiced alarm over Khosa's alleged abduction, suggesting it might be linked to his work as a satirist. The HRCP had called for his immediate recovery.

Shortly after midnight on Monday, Khosa's lawyer, Khadija Siddiqi, announced on X that Khosa had been released and was back home.

Another of his lawyers, Mian Ali Ashfaq, also confirmed Khosa’s safe return and stated that he had spoken to him in detail.

"Alhamdulillah, he is courageous, safe, and determined," Ashfaq said, thanking Siddiqi for her support and representation.
