What's new

Australia [158/4] beat India [169/7] by 4 runs (DLS method) in the 1st T20I to take 1-0 series lead

You forgot to say #ThankYouIPL #IPLRocks

:inti

It's the best T20 league in the world and is one of the major reasons why India won the 2011 WC and continues to be such a dominant cricketing nation.

Let it go BVB. You don't have to watch it or sing any praises but it is time to accept cricket has changed. You're no different to the old era hype fanatics who rate the likes of Hobb, Bradman, WG Grace above Tendulkar, Lara, Ponting and etc.

We don't live in the 200-250 ODI scoring era anymore - IPL is a great source of channelling talent and getting upcoming players to accustom themselves to the pressure and larger crowds you find in international cricket. In addition it allows players to rub shoulders with the best players in the world.

Overall it's a great stepping stone towards international cricket for the upcoming players. More experienced cricketers have the chance to enhance their limited overs skills with the best Indian talent + top overseas players.

The cheerleaders, music and entertainment are also a nice touch.

Bcoz Bangladesh has the most aweful fans in the entire world. Its proven long time back. Their team that got whitewashed against Afg, havent won a game against Ind for more than 3 years, lost a test against Zimb is laughing here for 1 T20 loss by 4 runs. And then same fans will come here and say, T20 internationals don't matter :uakmal

Obviously rankings and T20 is irrelevant when you're sitting at the bottom of the table and getting whitewashed at home by the Afghans.

There are many Bangladesh fans like him with their false sense of confidence. Think before you speak comes to mind.

Rishabh Pant's scoop like shots without spreading his arms aka Suresh Riana will end up getting India into major problems in the future.

Hopefully Pant will learn from his brain fade which cost India the game. He has age on his side.

More than his brain fade, I am seriously concerned about his alligator arm scoop shots that makes the ball go up like water bombs in the air. It looks so much like Suresh Raina, looks like he could get out at any moment...

KL did not get out to a mindless shot. There is absolutely no comparison between how KL got out and how Pant got out. Pant's dismissal was really stupid.

He barely survived a stumping a couple of balls earlier. Could have avoided advancing down the track. He needs to use his mind more.

Pant on the other hand goes brainless.

I think you got confused. The ball where KL was almost stumped was the one to which he stepped out.

To the delivery he did get out, he only pressed forward on the front foot and had his foot on the line. He didn't step out to that ball.

All the Krunal Pandya fans must have got the required dosage last night. He had no clue. He's a darter who is worse under pressure and doesn't have a plan B. It's a shame some people thought he's a better bowler than Jadeja and wanted him in ODIs. Indian team is missing Hardik

Don't equate one poster with every single BD fans. I can say the exact same thing about IND and Pak fans as well.

This is a IND vs Aus match thread.

Cant believe full strength India lost to Australia D side.

Ohh so India lost to Aus Z side :o

Where are those Indians who were mocking Pakistan on winning tri series and home series against Aus?

Just one game, bhai mere. You can do your partying once the series ends. Unless you have already forgotten the 9 wickets thrashing this same AUS Z team gave you in the 1st match of that tri-series. :misbah

The same Aussie side would beat a full strength Pakistan side in Australia as well. There are some woeful batsmen against pace especially on fast wickets in that T20 side such as Malik, Hafeez, Sarfraz to name a few. The rest (other than Fakhar) can merely accumulate.

Krunal seems nothing more than a part timer. And looks really ugly while slogging. Not sure how people compare him to Jaddu. If Hardik is not available,we need to look elsewhere.Or play batsman like Jadhav who can surely bowl better

Pant needs to realise he can score enough normally to try cute shots

Good stuff otherwise

1. Krunal seriously inferior to Hardik (who is not great either, that is for another day), played to that mark
2. Poor fielding efforts
3. Khaleel poor bowling
4. Rohit failed, Kohli failed, Rahul Failed
5. Duck worth lewis

Still India lost by 4 runs.

Agreed, it was a bad loss but I believe only good things can come out of it.
Rather than playing dead wood dhoni, jadhav.
Karthik, unfortunately, played well - to prolong his selection.

No problem, players will learn and perform better in the next match - win or lose - and any team can win on their day in T20, even Afghansistan can run many teams close.

Good. Will it give them a boost? play and win the ODI and tests.
T20 could be won from here too.
:ashwin

This loss doesn't mean anything, since India doesn't take bilateral T20s seriously it was nice of them to try out new youngsters and drop established players like Dhawan, Rohit, Rahul, Kohli, Bhuv and Bhumrah................ oh wait :broad

India spanked from genesis to revelations by a bunch of amateurs :))) :))) All that money, IPL and what not yet play like absolute cowards, were they having problems with the food and hotel accommodation to :( help mumi ji !!! :stokes:stokes

' I don't take T20 seriously bro '

:))) :)))

Australia have pretty strong T20 team even with no Warner and Smith and the main seam bowlers.

Looks like some of the local regulars are back to their choti choti khushiyans waiting for India to lose the odd match here and there.

Because they know if they wait for celebrating a PCT victory....it's going to be a long wait. :viru

aus last 5 t20s against pakistan LLLLL 5-0. So please tell me who thrash whom?:ashwin:danish

I can't believe this thread has ballooned to 4 pages. ::J

Come on folks, you won't even remember this game 6 months on.

If India wins "it is against aus z team".
If India loses " cannot even win against aus z1 team".

If other teams win "world beaters"
"Are we seeing the greatest 2018 team after bradman team"

T20 is such format anyone can win and lose.
That is the thrill of it. Pure entertainment. Nothing else.

Also, if not for T20, cricket would have been half dead by now. That is my perception.

Only if some cash inflows happen can someone expand or experiment or venture into new areas.

you need to know the history who started the'' C and D team'' concept .some poster are just returning the favor when you belittle there team wins.

Hehe, why? T20s r pointless now? :))

Losing a match after spending so much money behind t20s, playing IPL throughout the year, going to Australia in six months advence to get acclimatised with the condition and playing with full strength squad against a team that missed 5/6 of their regular should be remembered by everybody.

aus last 5 t20s against pakistan LLLLL 5-0. So please tell me who thrash whom?:ashwin:danish

Yes, beating this same poor Aussie team at home and in Zimbabwe after getting thrashed mercilessly in the first game of the tri-series. :misbah

India has been winning against Australia since 2007 against their best sides. 10 wins out of 15 games since then including whitewashing them in their own home in 2016. Come back when your team gets a whitewash in Australia. So far all they can do is get whitewashed. :viru

But enjoy this moment - India's 2nd loss against Australia in the last 9 matches they have played. It's not going to last long. :)

are you for real ? we have won that tri nation and also white wash them at home and you are picking a single match after which we have defeated 5 out of 5 time your desperation is appalling

why should i enjoy india defeat i just pointed out your ill logic of aus winning first t20 in trination and completely ignoring aus last 5 matches defeat they have suffer against pakistan

Correction they didnt get whitewashed at home , it was away. If it makes a difference to you, but then they also beat West Indies who are current t20 world cup champions away from home this year in T20s besides making the Nidahas Trophy Tri Series Finals.

And what does Bangladesh have to do in this thread anyway? Some people have a habit to drag them everywhere and anywhere to make fun , some hidden grudge it seems

No one has the habbit of dragging Bangladesh everywhere...your team is not worth enough. Dont consider yourself too important...lol. The only reason BD was brought in this thread bcoz few BD posters started trolling here without any reason. I would request you to read all posts thoroughly before coming to conclusion.

Read the thread and you'll see why Bangladesh's cricket side got mentioned here. A notable Bangladesh fan on here came up here to rejoice India's loss citing how pointless ICC rankings are.

Something needs to be changed in the grass root level of Indian cricket. I m getting worried about u guys.

I mean, I can't even remember a single no1 test team with away records that India currently has.

When Pak became no 1 for a short period they drew in England. Before that, when Eng were no 1 they thrashed India in India in tests. Before that when SA were no1 test team they won in Australia, UAE, SL, BD. Before that when Australia were the no 1 test team they beat everyone in tests they played against.

I m actually concerned about the concept of this ranking method and how much value should be given to it. Just look at the performance of current no 1 test team India in the test serieses they have recently played against NZ, SA, Eng and the result of those series. Icc needs to come up with a better ranking system. :)

It's not pointless, it's flawed.

I agree it's flawed and acknowledge Pakistan isn't the bonafide no.1 T20 side in the world however in the case of Bangladesh's ranking the ranking position is justified when they can't even compete with minnows like Afghanistan.

SA's series in the UAE back in 09 and 2013 both ended in a draw.

Also I'd more concerned with the state of cricket in Bangladesh having failed to beat Zimbabwe at home.

That's nothing. Azhar Ali was given out LBW on Umpire's call and Pak lost a test match by 4 runs. I have not seen a single complaint about that.

Absolutely. Most (mature) country fans understand that poor umpiring is a part and parcel of the game. And Liton Das dismissal like KL Rahul's yesterday were not poor decision either. Both were out as per rule book.
