17-0 : 5.0

LBW decision overturned, Thirimanne survives and Starc still looking for his 200th Test wicket

Even Australia B team would be too much for SL.

Match would not last beyond 4 days, IMO.

Credit to Cummins especially. What an all rounder !! Aussie version of Sam Curran.

Sri Lanka proves that this Australian team is a D grade one... 58 is already a match winning total considering Australia has a very weak batting lineup

This Richardson fellow looks to be a very good find for Australia. 200-250, low-scoring match on cards, it appears.

It is almost like Srilankans are not keen of coming forward. They want to play everything off the backfoot. Are they worried about bouncers?

They are hit by bouncers from Lyon lol
What kind of pitch is this? Or is it a day night match thing? As per commentary on cb, ball is turning, spinning, seaming what not? Cannot blame SL batsmen if so much is happening...

Yea.. ball was spitting from the pitch for Lyon. Not surprisingly they are tentative. They probably will bat better in the next innings. But Lyon is getting a lot out of the pitch.

Pitch looks like 3rd day, 4th day pitch given the turn Lyon is getting. Might help Srilanka as well as they have their own set of spinners.

What is sad on the part of Asian teams is all batsmen struggle against off spinners, in SENA countries. Poor defensive skills by most and impatience for not scoring fast result in making these issues

Indians have no business to struggle here. Reason they do is because they don't take part in domestic cricket anymore which is where you get the best practice against spin. This is why Mayank agarwal was supremely confident against Lyon. I back any random Indian domestic player to do better against Lyon than some of the regular Indian player. Indians hardly have any match practice against spinners.

Another one. This is bad batting. They are not bowling bouncers or anything. Why are they stuck on backfoot for no reason. They are just stuck on the crease and throw the bat.

He reminds me of Stuart broad with his seam movement. Still not the same. But he is showing a lot of promise.

I have to agree with the openers part. Nobody gives openers the importance and credit the deserve, if openers are a good combo most matches could result in draws and if you have good bowlers most matches in tight finishes and if you have good middle order , wins.

India had Gavaskar, Tendulkar and now Kohli taking benefit of the 3 combinations 2 of which - opening batsmen andd bowlers for Tendulkar ; middle order and bowlers Gavaskar did not have.

This makes Kohli's captaincy more stupider when has more resources available than before and having not utilised them in SA and ENg series.

They should buckle down and put up a partnership. one guy has to go after Richardson. They just allow him to settle into a nice rythm.

South Asian teams, except India are not good enough to compete in Australia. The fans of these teams cannot digest the fact that India not only competed but won a series in Australia. They have created this myth that this Australia team, in the absence of Smith and Warner is their D team.

This Australian team was made to look weak by a strong Indian team ranked number one in the world. That does not make this team a weak team. This team is a full strength Australian team, barring those who are missing because of suspension. The reason why Sri Lanka is unable to compete with this so called D team is because this Australian team is a formidable team, with very strong bowling attack, and decent batting. This bowling attack is dismantling Sri Lankan bowling. Just wait when it is the turn of Australian batsmen to bat. They will once again start scoring runs that they were unable to score against India.

Weren't SL suppose to win if they won the toss according to resident experts here, Aussies seemed to have missed that memo.

I don't like umesh but credit to him and pujara that they play ranji when they get time unlike the srinivasan ******* that we have for keeper, with his excuses.

Remember, Australia did not select Jhye Richardson and Kurtis Patterson against India.

Pujara is the biggest difference between India and SRL. India also lost 4 quick early wickets but Pujara’s innings helped India win that first game.

Cummins is such a warrior. Already a fan of him. His batting, bowling, die-hard spirit is a symbol of Australian brand of cricket i witnessed over the year.

Damn. The SL player is hurt and the commentator is laughing and applauding Cummins for getting the double blow - hand and helmet.

They are the worst I've seen.Still salty because of IND thrashing them badly

One decision off Starc's bowling was overturned by DRS. Commentators keep reminding it and saying how Starc has been unlucky. Lol. How is he unlucky when the decision was legit overturned by technology?

Australia invites SRL, ENG invites WI, IND invites SRL and WI, PAK invites SRL/WI, but no one wants to invite Bangladesh:(

NZ is the only team that shows some respect to BD I guess. Recall Stephen Fleming gave some nice word back in 2007 WC.

Bangladesh aren't test quality. That's why no one calls them

Bangladesh has played 19 tests in SENA countries and they have lost all of these tests tamely. They have lost 13 of these tests by an innings. Why will these boards invite a team that cannot even compete there.

I am sure they will have to invite BD once test championships begin.
