Australia (474 & 234) hands India (369 & 155) an 184-run defeat in the 4th Test to take a 2-1 lead in the 5-match series

Rohit pathetic tean selection and captaincy is showing the true colours.

Excellent knock from smith. Match is beyond indian reach and we are likely to lose by an inning.

Siraj is a skiddy bowler. Can do wonders on low bounce surfaces. On Ausnpitches, you need tall bowlers who can hit the deck hard.

I don’t blame Siraj. He is a good 3rd bowler to come after Bumrah and Shami. But as a strike bowler, he gets exposed. Too much to ask from him.

Bumrah is the only bowler who looks like taking a wicket. The rest are total duds.

I say both spinners should bowl now until Aus declares.

Sundar can’t even bowl a tight line. Short and down the leg. He bowls that like twice an over.

At this point Rohit should bowl. You know he is not going to contribute anything with the bat. So at least he needs to bowl a few overs to earn his paycheck.

This is the 4th test in running and dumb guys gave him opportunity after seeing what happened in earlier 3 matches .he just takes few tail ender wickets to look reasonable at the end.his penetration at the top order is as good as Rohit's pathetic captaincy. U and me know what's going wrong with siraj not our dumb captain/coach. That's my concern. They don't know what to do.
 
I want to see a full fledged bhangra in the dressing room this time between Kohli, Rohit and Gambhir if we avoid the follow on again

Gambhir has been an absolute disaster as a coach. We lost to NZ badly at home and now in Aus. Not sure what is going on, but GG needs to put his foot down and drop Kohli and Rohit if they fail again in this test.

The only test we won is when Bumrah captained us. Shows how poor Rohit has been.
 
Hearing various analysts as well as Indian posters here mention Shami's absence as being so damaging to India in this series, I finally checked his stats in Australia, expecting him to average sub 25 or so.

But to my surprise, he has average stats there; 31 wickets in 8 matches at 32. Siraj has similar stats (a slightly better average and ER in 7 matches).

So it doesn't seem his presence would have made much of a difference. Aakash in his absence has done a pretty decent job; has just been unlucky, going past edge a dozen of times in two tests.

From my memory, he always has been a very good bowler in Indian conditions, blowing teams away with his reverse swing bowling. Also remember him causing problems in SA.

Other than that he has struggled In England and Australia.

Shami works well with Bumrah. He gets crucial wickets and breaks partnerships. Siraj is not that kind of bowler. He is a good soldier. Not a commander.

Recently, Pope captained in the first test against Pakistan and they won it. Stokes took the reigns again for 2nd, and 3rd and lost both. That doesn't mean Pope is a better captain than Stokes.

I can see how Rohit lets the game drift but India being behind in the series is just not due to the captaincy. They have batted poorly since Perth second innings and that has been the main difference.

Also bowlers not bowling to any plan to Head is not Rohit's fault as well. The likes of Morkel and Gambhir need to take a lot of blame here. Reading his answer to the question about bowling to Head in a press conference during one of the previous tests, Morkel seemed bereft of ideas.

Shami numbers are not great in australia but Bumrah/ Shami/ Ishant/ Umesh were bowling in Tandom had worked for india.

They were kept relentless pressure during whole innings.
 
Woke up to see this travesty. The lower order is scoring 150+. Bumrah is trundling, we look strategically short. Captain and Coach need to up their game.

Last tour shami played. He averaged 26 though. He only averaged 35 plus in 2014 when it was ultra flat and Smith plus virat were making merry. Even Johnson averaged 30 plus in that series.

Shamis stats are deflated by that 2014 series on pattas in Aus where every bowler struggled, this includes and in form Mitchell Johnson and Harris. Shami has done well on last two tours where he got sporting wickets.

100% he averaged 25 26 in 2018. He destroyed Australia.

In 2014 even Johnson and crap averaged 30. Flattest pancake pitched ever. Harris was 33 that series.

When you have mediocre people at the helm, you get mediocre decisions and mediocre results. It’s not surprising to see the Indian team where it is today. It’s one thing to bowl on a flat pitch and not getting desired result; it’s another to NOT feel humiliated after playing such timid and unintelligent cricket.
 
BUmrah managed 4-99. Almost gave a 100 runs... Wow... AUstralia played him very well this time.. Konstas and Smith must have done most of the damage.
 
Siraj 0-122 :abbas1 in 22 overs... WHy are India persisting with him.. No one else in the squad to replace him?

Nothing shot from Rohit. Please retire in the middle of the Test. I hope Rohit has some shame remaining. He gifted his wicket.

Both Kohli and Rohit ruining their reputation by clinging on when their best days are way past behind them.
