Seems like Warner is struggling. Cramps are getting to him..

The Aussies are good, but South Africa are so so poor at the moment man.
I know I’ve given South African cricket and their players a hard time over the years on PP but in moments like this they show why they deserve it.
Two catastrophic batting collapses in the first innings when they were in stable positions from which they should have kicked on (56/1 and 179/5) and they end up going under for a pathetic 189. I read that they haven’t passed 200 as a team in several Tests now and that’s just not good enough at all.
And as much as I respect David Warner as a batsman, he has been batting like a cat on a hot tin roof for most of the last 3-4 years & any side that sees present Davey through to a double ton and still can’t get him out has severe problems. That is Warner’s place in the side sealed for the Ashes now, which may or may not turn out to be a good thing for Australia.
Dean “it’s a man’s game and I intend to play the game hard” Elgar has got to be the most overrated and ineffectual captain in world cricket. An absolute bottle job of a South African side that he leads and one of the worst ever to tour Australia.
Also saw the clip of Nortje being knocked down by Spidercam. Thankfully he wasn't seriously hurt.
It's time these stupid gimmicks that add little to the TV coverage are done away with.

Don’t you want another Tapal Tea Moment?

There were some dismal shots in SAF's 1st innings. This pitch isn't anywhere near as difficult to bat on as Brisbane.
Their batting overseas has been poor for a while. It's a shame given they've got a well rounded pace attack.

Lucky that not injured

Yes Elgar is a supporting act at best.On day 1 i said it is a good batting wicket, but SA will be bowled out in a day. It happened. Because their make up is like that 5+1+5. Turns out 1 and one of the bottom 5 saved their face. Top 5 none of them are world class. Including Elgar. He is a laborious batsman. If you pick ATG SA XI, this guy won't be anywhere near that line up.

I remember seeing Erwee make a hundred in NZL. He looked organised and knew where his offstump was. Done nothing since and played away from his body in 1st inns.
De Bruyn is a TTF, recall watching him tour ENG in 2017 and was a walking wicket.
Bavuma has a horrible conversion rate, only one Test hundred since his debut. His overseas record is poor too. Zondo averages 31 in FC cricket and yet is batting at #5, seems like a racially motivated pick.
Maybe the standard of SA FC cricket has declined, but there are domestic batsmen putting up decent numbers like JN Malan and Joshua Richards. David Bedingham has got runs for Durham in County Cricket but not sure if he wants to play for ENG or SA.
Alviro Pietersen a technically correct batsman. Very textbook material. But also decent temperament. He has a long way to go. Markram blows hot and cold. They have to start blooding guys like Brevis. I know he has limited experience. But his batting is very similar to ABDV. They can see give him an opportunity to see if he is ready. Als Klassen has a FC average of around 48. For some reason this Zondo guy gets opportunity.
Alviro Petersen? Or did you mean Keegan Petersen?
Another one sided win for AUS in all probability. The SA batting line-up seems pretty brittle which is backed by a string of low team totals. ABd and Faf's retirment in quick succession seems to have left a huge void.
South Africans have given up, their body language on the field pretty much says it all. This game is the series, SA will be bundled out cheaply unless they come with a lot of determination.
Their ceiling of late has been 200. Now the lead is well over 200. It is going to be psychologically challenging.
South Africa batting line up is comparable to WI and BD these days, not even an exaggeration.
Australia will be down two bowlers so they have to be careful.

Green and who else?

Starc copping a helmet blow now from Jansen. I am not sure about the point of continuing this innings.
Possibly because the SA batting will only last about 35 overs and the match will finish inside two days.
Bavuma has played so many Tests. Just 1 century 19 fifties. Average 34.
Even with the Australian bowling attack down to Cummins, Boland and Lyon, plus Travis Head supporting, you can bet that the South African batting lineup will fold for under 200 yet again and Davey Warner will come on to take the final wicket with a few part time twirlers in his 100th Test.
And India bottled a series against this South African team early this year after leading 1-0
No wonder it was the worst loss of the year for Indian team. Performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg were shambolic from us.
SA drew in New Zealand. They are not that horrible. Very strong at home.
