Pakistan may get close but their lackluster lower order will probably end up costing them. They really needed a good start here even if australia didn't finish the innings well at all. Days of akmal, razzaq , afridi lower order is long gone now and it's quite a top heavy line up. It's not a massive total so they shouldn't worry yet about the asking rate.

How is he putting pressure when there wasn't any pressure to begin with? What pressure was there in the 2nd over? What pressure was there when we were 51/1 after 10 overs?

The problem is our lower order is weak, he needs to do more than just see out 10-15 overs. I don't trust Sarfraz and Shoaib Malik. Perhaps Asif Ali as well given how he's dropped 2 catches today.

Imam has all the basics, he is just inexperienced and new to the game. He will improve. On top of that we dont have many replacements and atleast he is consistent which is the key as opening batsman. Role given to Imam is to keep on batting and when he gets out early same role is transferred to Babar while rest of the batsmen play around them.

Imam needs to take things deep and not try to emulate Hafeez, he can simply keep giving strike to Hafeez and avoid risk for some time. wickets will be important in the end. run rate will not be an issue, with their lack of 5th bowler.
