If we are smart with our selection we could have the best bowling at the World Cup with Hassan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shadab Khan

Hasnain and Junaid as backup options

Yeah I agree, its a shame that most Pakistani cricketers don't take their profession seriously, top fitness will really boost their performance.

It all leads back to Inzi, cricketers looking at him as an example thinking as long as they perform with their sub 30 averages that they're fine.
 
These trundlers shouldnt be blamed..if batters cant get you 350 on this wicket you have no chance. Thats why i was surprised why even bat first

Wahab has always gotten trashed in the international arena. Junaid isn't that good either, and Shadab's recent performances are concerning.

We're certainly top 3 in our bowling going into the World Cup, but not the best

I don't understand. This series was to test out new players for ODIs. Why are we trying out 34 year old Yasir & Abbas for ODIs. I am so fed up of Mickey and whoever is making these calls.

Him being banned made people feel he was extra special. He was decent before his ban, but he wasn't amazing, just had a good tour of England.
 
Pakistan will suffer again because of lack of quality spinners in middle overs , they relying on darters who can bat :facepalm:

I disagree. He was seriously good with his inswinging killer deliveries and that too with sheer pace. He just performs once in a blue moon.

lol this amazes me too. Is he just lucky? But somehow he seems to always find a way to get wickets.

It's like a knack, he seems to get it bowling good or bad lol. Imagine what this guy could do if he actually refined his skills, if he's already picking up wickets bowling like this.
 
Amir has become the kind of bowler who would not leak any runs but would not take any wickets either. He should have realized it by now that he is an attacking bowler who needs to bowl on to the stumps, not short pitches

He was ahead of his age as a pacer at that time. It needs skill to exploit the condition in England. He was only 17 then. In my opinion those 5 years would have taken him to that 'amazing' level. I can't say it for sure but he had that potentiality. But now he is not even at the level he was in 2010

He was definitely good, but he wasn't the second coming of Wasim Akram... Until he got banned. That's when people starting adoring him for some reason. His comeback had people hyped because they thought he used to be an amazing bowler.
 
I haven't following cricket for a while. Can anybody please tell me where is Sarfraz? Are Hafeez and FZ dropped?

He was good at that time , but no where near Wasim. Asif was much more skillful bowler.

Amir is still a good defensive bowler.
 
Mohammad Aamir - when will the torture end?

Probably the worst opening fast bowler from all non minnow teams.

10 overs of yasir will be key here , he needs to be used as wicket taking option. Even if he goes for 70 runs , I would want 3 wickets from him

Also because around 2015 Pak's cricket looked very bleak with a pathetic wc squad.
 
Imad is really looking flat today. Poor stuff.

If he isn't getting any grip then he should try bowling around the wicket with a legside line. At the least restrict runs and put pressure on them.

Wahab is only useful in Aus for his pace or in the UAE for reverse swing. Everywhere else he will get murdered for his predictable stuff.

The last time Wahab played in the UK he got carted like a trundler from Nepal.

PAK's this kits look better than yellow sheds. Instead of darker green, they should replace it with bright blue. That 1997-98 WSC kits were probably the best I have seen.
 
the thing aussie batsmen have massively imrpoved upon is running, quick singles and converting 1s into 2s
 
Yasir needs to look for wicket , he cannot be defensive here , if Aussies bat 50 overs , they should win this.
 
Rather than dark green it should be navy blue on the sides. The would look epic

Its a shame that we are not playing a spinner who can turn the ball properly. This match would have been over by now had Zafar been playing.

Yes Zafar is a good bowler, its unfortunate he slept through the morning of his maiden test call up.
 
pakistan need to tell Amir he is leader of the pacers , he has to strike and get wickets up front

That trend was started by Bob Woolmer , he went in with Afridi and malik as spinners in several games , and now that has become mentality , pakistan just playing darters
