What's new

Australia v Pakistan | 1st Test | Brisbane | Dec 15-19, 2016 | Day 1

Pakistan now have zero chance of winning the match...

It's way too difficult to come back after losing your best bowler. I know SA did it, but they also had Philander and Rabada...

I really hope the ICC consider injury subs, the injury has ruined the match and made it near on impossible for Pakistan to come back.

Any chance of Pakistan fielding another player if the Aussies agree to it?

There's no point in watching the match otherwise, Pakistan are stuffed :(

Meanwhile, a hemisphere away, Salman Butt has to bat and bat and bat to deliver WAPDA the domestic title.

And he has chewed up 49 overs so far for 49 not out.

Have an odd feeling that Rahat will bowl Pakistan to victory.

But back to reality... Amir bowled extremely well, consistently bowling 140 kph and tight lines.

So who are we replacing Amir with? Asif or Butt?

It's not just why Asif was required.

It's also why Aamer Yamin needed to be groomed.

This Test is gone for all money except if Younis Khan scores a double ton (miracle)

Pakistan might be starring at an innings defeat now.

Sod it, just finished downloading Don Bradman 17 so I'm gonna play that instead.

Such a bad luck.He was the pick of the bowlers.Probably he has torn his collateral ligament or meniscus of knee joint with haemarthrosis. That is a bad bad injury.I hope i am proven wrong.Otherwise, my watching this innings is over as don't want to see that lethargic, anaemic, lullu bowler bowl again.

Mickey Arthur was right.

You have to have a Number 6 who can bowl fast-medium.

Stokes or Corey Anderson or Mitch Marsh.

Losing Amir at this stage is a huge setback. I know that OZ were anyway winning it, but to watch Rahat, Wahab & Yasir sweat it out with >50 overs each is painful. Looks like we'll soon come to know how realistic are Asif's chances of making a comeback. If PCB doesn't select him now, it's basically never.

Asif himself isnt fit enough to make a comeback , time to make a call up on mohammad Abbas or mir hamza.

Drop rahat Ali please.

I thought it was fairly even. I expected Amir and Rahat to take wickets under lights with the second new ball and was expecting it to end around 280-7.

But now there is no new ball attack.

Aus would be eyeing for 500 here.

Too tough for any team to beat Aus in Gabba.

Pakistan has most probably lost this game already with one bowler down too.

Catches dropped as well which is normal for them as well.

LMAO, you can't know Australian cricket (or Australian sports for that matter) very well if you think they'd agree to that.

Stomach Bug / Food Poisoning is not a fitness Issue for more than 48 hours.

Asif is now injury free and will be again match fit in 24 hours time.

Asif has bowled 9 overs & 12 overs spell unchanged this season without losing his accuracy of line and length.

Mir Hamza & Mohammad Abass cannot even tie shoe laces of Mohammad Asif.

Now I don't want to remind you why Bob Woolmer picked a bowler Averaging 25 in Fc Season with a SR of 48 for a foreign tour and ignored a bowler averaging 12 and having a SR of 28 in the same Season.

Asif has bowled 3 out of the best 4 spells of fast bowling of QEA 2016-2017.

It's time for Asif comeback without any further delay.

Amir back fielding. Biggest surprise could be if Muhammad Amir come back to bowl when the new ball comes.:amir2

Well he is back on the field now. Let's see how this prophecy goes. :asif

He's going to be bowling on one leg!

Why is he back on the field without any scan. That looked really nasty. Really happy if he is OK

To be honest I did not expect much from Rahat anyway, not even under lights. It's not that he doesn't have the ability to swing, but its the inability to find the right line/length. A few shots off his bowling, and he seems to get rattled. I concede that not selecting Asif was a big blunder by PCB.

Pakistan have bowled poorly and without much of a plan too.

Over bowling Yasir and Rahat has looked out of sorts.

Amir back and Wahab celebrates by gifting Smith two easy boundary balls.

I think they should have sent him for a scan before bringing him back though. A bit unprofessional there.

This isn't a contest anymore, even the Aussies know that.

Smith and Handscomb looking very comfortable at the crease, just accumulating. This partnership looks to be the match-ending one for Pakistan. Pakistan's self proclaimed great attack is toothless right now

As I said earlier Pakistan have given the new Aussie boys their fame. Renshaw and now Handscomb and with Maddinson to come yet.

Seein Handscomb play for the first time, and looks like Smith will remain #1(also undisputed)

Can someone tell how many catches have been dropped today? I saw one of Smith being dropped by Sarfraz Ahmed.

So Junaids bahi when are the Australians declaring ?? :yk

Amir limping after the first ball, doesn't need to aggravate his injury further.

what the hell is wrong with them appeal for anything they are not appealing for a nick.
