Australia v Pakistan | 2nd Test - Day 2 | SCG | 4/01/10

Ooh close escape for Sami there. Must say it looked pretty out on the replay.

Illuminating comment there. Siddle actually takes more wickets at a better average than Flintoff if you care to look.

But why he reminds me of Flintoff is that he looks menacing and can regularly beat the bat but he just doesn't seem to get the wickets to show for it.

He bowls cannon fodder that's why. He's not Australia's strike bowler and with the current crop won't become one for a long time. Had Freddy not been an all-rounder, he would surely open the bowling for England. In fact, to add to that, he has opened the bowling before.

I reckon we will be AO in 5 overs,

Must hit 200 for the psychological advantage.

Dont you think Pakistan should declare and have a quick bowl? or to build on a lead a better idea??

wow this deliviry cannot hit the stumps...australians are definintly tweaking with hawk eye. the ball hit way above the knee and hawk eye is still showing its touching the bails...thanks to third umpire who didnt give that out....remember yesterday when the ball hit North on knee hawk eye made it on the top of the stumps....

Shame on you aussies for tweaking hawk eye...

That's the way it should be. But it will take many years for Sr. to come to the level of the Jr. Should keep trying though.

Really? Match saving hundred in India, one of the greatest innings of his generation in Karachi in 2006, it should be the other way around.

Ok dude. As I mentioned he gets more wickets at a better average than Flintoff but he bowls cannon fodder eh? Whatever.

Kamran Akmal really needs to get a long session with Yousef on how to play with patience, this was pathetic for the VC, he needs to take responsibilty.

Go for the shots guys. One of the balls is going to take you anyway. Quit stalling!

Because his bat was miles from the ball?
he is talking about the height where you show hitting the wkt.
The hawkeye has been giving all balls going quite high

This session stats:

Runs scored - 111
Wickets - 5
Overs Gone - 24.0
Overs Remaining - 13.0
Lead at the start of session - 63/2
Lead now - 174/7

Yes. And it was the other way around in 2005-6 (remember Umar not in the team then). Sadly, it's 2010 now. The roles have, rightly, reversed.

Yes that's because we have been tampering with it remember?

Three reasons why we can't score big...Umar-Viv-Sehwag-Bradman-IPL-Akmal....Misbah-bureaucratic-First-And-Fifth-Gear-Only-Niazi and Kami-Catch-dropping-Brain-Farting-Sr-Akmal...

Until and unless Pak gets a proper test batsman who prefers to grind things out and play long innings in the 5, 6, or 7 number, rather then the teenage heart-throb who likes to tear the ball apart with every shot with legions of hormonal teenaged fans, we will continue to collapse just as we have been since the Lankan series, despite getting good starts...

I'm only analysing from what I've seen this series, he's been the least threatening from all the Aussie bowlers. Additionally he has consistently released the pressure for us with his wayward spells.

He scored the most number of runs for Pakistan this year.

Yeah that's because he played the most games then any other player this year as well...

90.4
Bollinger to Gul, FOUR!!, ohhh is that a number 9 or what! fuller length delivery outside the off stump, Gul drives it to deep extra cover, lovely shot! :four

Good stufff.............. 17 more needed for 200+ lead with that lovely contribution by Bollinger!!

When they try grinding it out and playing a proper test innings you have 80% of fans on here crying about negative batting and lack of intent

Because 2 hours play was lost yesterday, i think because of sunlight they will bowl all the overs today. We started half and hour earlier as well, so they would want to make up at least 1 hour today of that 2 hour lost yesterday. Thats what i think.

I am talking about the replay from behind the stumps which showed that ball was hitting the top of bails. On Umar,s dismissal the showed front replay but impact wasn't clear.

Misbah, Butt and Farhat and Iqbal could never play that shot in a million years...

This is just what we need

Lead is 187 - atleast 13 more and i will be happy (obviously another 50 would be nice :) )

13 from the over. Not bad. That's the way to do it. No block blokck block. Smash smash smash. Test Cricket 2010 style. Test Cricket Umar Akmal style.

No point arguing, Umar was out, plumb.

He is totally wrong. Test matches have changed a lot. We are seeing more results then ever. Results used to be highly unlikely in past because of negative approach of some batsmen.

Indeed - block, block wont get us a 200+ run lead

Yes, and whatever lead we have now is mainly because of that phase where Akmal-Moyo were smashing them to all parts. Bless them.

batting conditions got better..our bowlers will have to work hard
well if that's the case, we may be in trouble. I just don't trust our batting in 4th inning, if Aussies give us around 150-200 runs to chase
