Batted his way through the innings with regular wickets falling around him. If he had fallen we'd have collapsed. If it weren't for Azhar's resoluteness then there would have been no platform for Amir and Sohail to go Gung Ho.

I don't want to generalize on what's been happening, or what happened in the past . . but for anyone who watched the first 11 overs of this innings, it will be incredibly unfair to say that the new ball was wasted! And just for what it's worth, I'd also recommend that you go through the cricinfo commentary to get a sense of how lucky australia was and in particular David Warner.

This Test could go the Abu Dhabi 2015 way. Pakistan putting a good total, England (Australia) responding with a better total and then attempting to force the issue on day 5 and Pakistan crumbled because they didn't know how to plan their innings.

It may have gone that way, but due to rain at least 2 sessions of play will be lost in the last 2 days so it will be a draw.
