India are above Aus in every facet.
For Australia to win, they need to have the best of the conditions.
Otherwise 4-0 India is possible.

Only point of interest is how much grass they leave on pitch - for Pink ball , recommended is 8 mm & if it is live [ pitch not dry but decently watered ] then it would be fun to watch !

Why do they even play pink ball test when it is pure lottery? I think all country except Australia have dropped that idea already.

Bumrah took 8 wickets. 12 wickets were taken by others. Two of them debutants picking 5 wickets between them. Sundar playing a test match after 3 years picked 2 wickets. Siraj was hopelessly out off form. Picked 5 wickets.
But bumrah is far below all top 5 pakistani bowlers. Can't compare to bowling friendly 90s with no drs, no no ball umpiring, biased umpiring, tampering era. Bumrah just can't cope with that at all.

Truly lucky to be playing in modern era vs weak batsmen.

Finally you see some sense

Likely to be 1-1 after 2nd test and it will set up this test series nicely.

Bumrah has the different plan just like the first test .

Australia is favourite but can't ruled out india .

Everyone was thinking that australia is going to dominate india in 1st test and some of @sweep_shot @mominsaigol delusion fans were predicated an innings win for Australian after india 150 all out in first innings . :kp

Idc, Travis Head > you

Steve Waughs Australia was on 16 test winning streak - India ended that streak in 2003

Australia was undefeated in Gabba for 43 years - India ended that in 2021

Australia never lost a test match in Optus Stadium - India ended that in 2024

Australia never lost a pink ball test - Can India end that streak as well in next test?

We are going to end australia any particular streaks . :kp

Yuvraj ended Australia in 2011.
Bumrah ended Australia in 2024.

Travis head is an issue. But that does not mean India hasn't defeated Australia in eliminators before.

You gotta admit, it would be really hard for Australia to win the series having lost the first one.

The Australians would be on back foot and Indians are filled with self belief, never a combination that works for Australia.

They rely on their opponents being nervous and exploits it.

They have no idea what to when the tables are turned on them.

It may look like he may do it all the time. But to give context, the greatest pacers, Marshall, has just 10 5-fers in win when playing away. And If I recall it right, McGrath has 9. That with having ATG test team behind Marhall/McGrath. It's very hard thing to do too many times and it's harder for Bumrah due to not having ATG test team backing him.

If Bumrah can win 2nd test or more live test in this series , I will rate him above Wasim because it's extremely rare for pacers to bowl so many match/series changing spells. Impact wise, he would leave most bowlers behind if he can influence this series.

Point is, you may be going over board in thinking Bumrah is going to blow out opposition every game. He has 7 5-fers in win, mostly against good teams, so yes skill is there. But as I said, best in history have not done more than 9-10 times.

From an Australian perspective i do not see any change. Will the bring Bancroft (TTF), Inglis or anyone in place of Labu who clearly is in need of a break.

Aus is likely to play the same team in 2nd test. India is likely to have two changes.

A what point australia will think about replacing one of pacer with Boland or Neser?

Marsh's fitness is concerning for them so they may replace Marsh with Hardie.

Sweeney looked totally out of depth. He was nothing like how he did against India A team. May be because he batted down the order. But i think they will back him. Who knows. In 3 or 4 years time he may bash everyone in the world. Mitch Marsh when he started he was like skinny like stuart broad bowling at 130k with very limited batting skills. He has turned it around in due course.

I think in 3rd test.

Andrew McDonald is sort of a guy who is resistant to over-reaction. That has worked for Australia so far. Lot of good things have happened. He might continue that approach until **** hits the fan. As of now they hope this experienced Australian team turns it around.

I think in 3rd test.

Hobart test level (2016) reaction is not evident at this point. After Hobart test thrashing there was an epic melt down in the Australian press. Losing to SA by an innings and 80 runs was seen as the ultimate low point. They have 4 more tests to course correct. They are absolute professionals and battle hardened. They will step up for sure

All the Australian analysts are talking about how Austrlaians should have game time atleast in club cricket before the next match. Before WTC final last time SMith played county cricket. Many of them participated in some sort of game. India went there right after IPL with zero preparation. When you have WTC final you should have a level playing first to get the best out of both teams. It cannot be such that one team goes after high pressure T20 league and other team goes after county cricket. Same happened in first WTC final. India went after IPL. But NZ had just concluded their test series agianst England.

because they know it favors them. No one else plays it so they have a clear advantage. It is the standard working procedure for all western countries. Do everything to influence to take ensure only stuff they are good in stays and everything else goes away. Case in point, number of swimming gold medals, sports which are only popular in western countries being part of Olympics, commonwealth games, etc..

Bancroft was among the top 2 leading run scorers in the shield for 2 seasons in a row. He had a bad start to this season but has scored a century now.
He is the most deserving for the opening position.

For all the drama India will have just one change which is basically Rohit replacing Jurel which is not exactly a positive for India.

Gautam Gambhir To Fly Home For 'Personal Reasons'; Set To Return Before Adelaide Test: Report

It is reported that India’s Head Coach for the Senior Men’s Cricket Team, Gautam Gambhir is set to return home on Tuesday, due to ‘personal reasons’. The former Indian cricketer and now Head Coach is part of the Indian squad in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series. He will return, however, before the second Test in Adelaide.

According to a report by the Indian Express, the Head coach had informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India that he would be going home and coming back ahead of the second Test and BCCI approved the request.

A BCCI source was quoted, “Gambhir has informed us that he will be travelling back home and will join the team before the start of the second Test. He has cited personal reasons and the BCCI has accepted his request".

Ahead of the 2nd Test, the team will travel to Canberra on Wednesday, to play a two-day tour game with the pink ball, scheduled to begin on Saturday.

The report suggests that Gambhir’s support staff which includes bowling coach, Morne Morkel, assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate and the fielding coach, T Dilip will look after the team’s training sessions with the skipper Rohit Sharma.

It's one thing to score vs mukku kumar. It's another to face a steaming hot bumrah, siraj shami etc.

I have never ever saw or listen this much panicking from Australian media. They Ripped Apart Australia Specially Marnus.

And this is also for pakistan fan's who are thinking Bumrah action is illegal.

I think India is going to give the Australians real trouble in Adelaide. They have momentum on their side.

If some suggest the Indian batsmen can't play swing then it seems the Aussies can't either these days. They were all at sea when that ball started moving at pace out of Bumrah's hands.

After India beat Australia in the 1st test, things have been bending in favor of India more and more. Australian side has panicked I think.

New zealanders are so happy that Australia got beaten. English are happy lol They think whole world is happy except AUssies.

Shubman Gill is doubtful for the Practice game against Prime Minister 11 starting on November 30th. So unlikely to Play 2nd test .

No plans to fly in Shami to Australia as of now .

India might have to wait a bit longer for the return of their regular No.3 as Shubman Gill is reportedly doubtful for the second Test match in Adelaide set to begin on December 6. India are slated to play a pink-ball practice game starting Saturday to prepare for the day-night affair at the Adelaide Oval and according to The Times of India, Gill is certain to miss that match in Canberra while there are serious doubts about his availability for the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Gill missed the series opener in Perth due to a fractured left thumb sustained while fielding in the intra-squad match in the lead-up to the series.

The right-handed batter has been advised to rest for a couple of weeks and will require some match practice before being considered for selection. "Gill was advised a 10-14 day rest by the medical specialist after suffering that injury. He won't play in the practice match on the weekend, and is doubtful at the moment for the second Test too. Let's see how much his injury has healed, how his finger feels. Even after it has healed, he'll need some quality practice before playing a Test match," a source was quoted as saying in the report.

Rohit should go to 3 in place of DDP then. Will be most logical

The panicking is justified, the Australian top order is looking the weakest it has ever been. They are way too reliant on Head,Carey Marsh to bail them out.
Its baffling how fans here are still rating Australia so highly.

Why Australia could be forced into an unexpected change for Adelaide Test

Australia’s selectors will add rangy Tasmanian all-rounder Beau Webster as cover for Mitchell Marsh for the Adelaide Test if the game-breaking West Australian is unable to bowl the overs required of him.

Marsh pulled up sorer than expected in Perth, one of many consequences of Australia being bowled out so cheaply and quickly in their first innings, thanks to the genius of Jasprit Bumrah.

Australia are expected to name an expanded squad on Thursday for the Adelaide pink-ball Test.

An industry figure with knowledge of the squad’s make-up told this masthead on Wednesday night that Webster will be in that squad.

Webster impressed the national selectors during the Australia A series and looked the most composed batter, other than Perth Test debutant Nathan McSweeney.

He is also an extremely versatile bowler, offering quality medium-fast bowling with plenty of height, and can also dabble in off-spin in the fashion of Colin Miller – a key role player for Australia during a dominant era between 1998 and 2001.

West Australian all-rounder Aaron Hardie would have been in the mix, but is carrying an injury niggle, which prevented him from playing in his state’s recent Sheffield Shield game against South Australia.

The Australians will arrive in Adelaide on Monday ahead of an extra twilight training session where the likes of Marnus Labuschagne will get the chance to be reacquainted with the pink ball.

“Yeah, he’s a special player at the moment,” Tasmania’s Jordan Silk said of his state teammate Webster.

“Any time I feel like we’re in trouble, I feel like I can throw him the ball and he just seems to be able to create something, or any time we’re in similar trouble with the bat then he’s able to dig us out of it. He showed his class this game.

“I know there’s a bit of talk probably around him potentially as a back-up all-rounder, and I’m very supportive of that move if they are to go that way because I think he’s shown in the last 18 to 24 months that he’s one of the best Sheffield Shield players currently.”

Silk, who has seen Webster up close over the past two years, where he has vied with the likes of Cameron Bancroft for the best record among domestic players, spoke warmly of his ability.

“He’s basically playing as our third seamer and top-six batter which is a pretty good luxury to have in our side,” Silk said.

“He’d probably say it was one of the best career moves of all-time to give up his dirty offies and go to seam bowling because it’s now looking like it could open many more doors for him.

“I think he’s gained the respect of the competition with those seamers, and that probably took maybe a year or two for people to really see that.”

Marsh has carried an ankle problem for the past few years and has had surgery for the issue, but he struggled in the face of the quick turnaround from first to second innings in Perth.

“Has he pulled up OK? We’ll wait and see,” head coach Andrew McDonald told reporters following Australia’s Perth loss.

“We knew that Mitch [Marsh] was slightly underdone coming in, but I thought the performance in the first innings was satisfactory.”

One of the thing they said was. "Without even taking another wicket he can be considered as the Greatest of ALl time". This is coming from Aussies who had Lindwall, Davidson, Thomson, Lillee, Mcgrath :)

"We Are A Side That Will Thrash You...": Sunil Gavaskar Blasts Australian Media After Perth Test Win By Jasprit Bumrah And Co

Legendary Indian cricket team captain Sunil Gavaskar took a brutal dig at the Australia media following Jasprit Bumrah and Co's stunning victory in the first Test match in Perth. India completely outplayed Australia by 295 runs to register a historic victory and take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Following the win, Gavaskar recalled how the Australian media criticised Indian cricket or the cricketers in the past before adding that India's win in Perth proved them wrong. Gavaskar said that India's only win in Perth came way back in 2008 and recalled that it was right after the Indian cricket team was heavily criticised by the Australia media following the Andrew Symonds-Harbhajan Singh controversy. He said that even Suryakumar Yadav's catch in the T20 World Cup 2024 final was questioned by the Australian media.

After that period of dominance from West Indies, Australia were on top for about 10-15 years, and that is why they did not face a defeat as big as this. Now Indian cricket, in the last 15 years....remember India's win at Perth in 2007/08 series came right after that controversy between Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds, which was followed by criticism from Australian media."

"So that win in Perth, and the win this time, it shows that each time Australian media goes against India...now remember that Suryakumar Yadav catch in T20 World Cup final. There was so many things being written in the media in Australia question the legality of that catch. How can you sitting right here in Australia question if Suryakumar's feet touched the ground? That is why our team showed that we are a side that will thrash you in this series,” he said during an interaction with India Today (as quoted by Fox Sports).

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president Rajeev Shukla on Tuesday lauded Team India for the massive 295-run win over Australia in the Perth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

India staged a stunning comeback from a series whitewash against New Zealand at home, defeating Australia by 295 runs in Perth despite being bowled out for a mere 150 runs in their first innings.

Speaking to ANI, Rajeev Shukla said that the triumph over Australia in Perth was of great importance. He added that both the Indian bowlers and batters performed well in the game.

The BCCI vice-president also confirmed that Rohit Sharma will be playing the upcoming second Test and lead the side against the Aussies.

"The victory in Perth is of great importance. Our bowlers and batsmen played very well...Rohit Sharma will be playing the second test as the Captain...," Rajeev Shukla told ANI.

SUnil Gavaskar should keep quiet. WHy is he bringing up Bhajji controversy now. These two teams get along with each other nicely. CUmmins is one of the least confrontional Aussie captain i have ever seen from Australia.

Rohit will never play waiting game due to his fitness issues.he will simply try to slog and get out(bng 1st innigs when conditions are spicy).its better to have him as an opener and treat whatever he scores as additional runs.kl and jaiswal can try to stick then .otherwise as soon as the first wicket is gone, rohit will depart in another 5 to 10 overs for sure.

Illegal or not Travis Head smacked him

One good thing going for India is that the evidence suggests that Cummins may not have Bumrah's skill.

He was very reliant on airspeed and has lost a lot of pace over the last 5 years.

Cummins in 2017 - 58 % of balls were
above 140 kph

Cummins in 2020 - 57.4 %

2022 - 22.2 %

2023 - 24 %

2024 - 15.4 %

Those enforcer lengths won't work at his current pace.

Either needs to get back a yard or 2 of pace or send Starc into retirement and take the new ball, add some new ball skills and get Lance Morris to be the new enforcer

Bumrah is a way better full length ball specialist. For Australia Starc is the full length ball specialist. Often times too full.

Cummins seems to have a weird obsession with bumrah. Too chummy. I need to see enmity. Fight.

What is this nonsense friendly stuff. 2021 that was a brutal one. Fiery.

Cummins by nature seems to be a friendly guy. There is no Mcgrath like attitude. or Johnson like attitude.

exactly he embarrased india the same way babar has embarassed us
Anyone losing a test series with Ashwin, Jadeja in the side deserves to be sacked. IN this case he even got support from Sundar. His brainless T20 hacking and 6 dropped catches in the slips plus stupid bowling rotation cost India massively.

I shared the news before. Sharing the video here. They have to stop sending Hazlewood for the press conference. He talked about conceding the game to Scotland to put England away in world T20.

One thing that all the analyst touched upon was how Australia was helpless for 4 or 5 sessions somethign they have not seen in years. They feel India tortured Australia in those sessions.

Lol just one Test win for Bumrah and Indians have forgotten what Rohit has ever done
What has he done?
Lost us a wtc final by not preparing in England
Making excuses
Lost us a wc final at home. After winning 9 on the trot and having the best team and the best bowlers. Doing pitch tampering for the wc final

I dont care about t20 wc.

In tests he cost us a home series loss vs 6th ranked nz. Albeit missing players but still no excuses

He also did nothing amazing in tests as of yet. He is not a bowling captain. He favours his useless wastrel batsmen.

But Ashwin wasn’t playing in the first Test match so how could he be replaced? If Rohit comes in surely he will replace a batter I guess.
Padikkal / Jurel

Jaiswal
Rohit/ KL
KL/ Rohit
King
Pant
Jurel/padikkal
Jadeja
Reddy
Akashdeep/ Rana
Bumrah
Siraj

Lol just one Test win for Bumrah and Indians have forgotten what Rohit has ever done
Its not what he has done. It should be never the question for any player.whats the team best combination and best chance to win the next match.dont agree with any player obsession. Any team has to be ruthless and performance oriented not an individual orientation. When Warner said he will take back his retirement and play test matches again,Cummins said "All the best for ur retirement life".

He led us to the worst home series loss in Indian cricket history and he was personally responsible for it.
He dropped more catches than his runs and he scored less runs that santner's wickets .who can have that kind of shameful display as a captain of a team which never lost a series in 12 years.Kohli abusing him to run and save boundary after dropping a catch is epitome of our team's mediocrity.
