What's new

Australia vs India | 2nd Test | Perth | Dec 14-18, 2018 | Day 3 Thread

Like ball touching the ground? Last piece of close up shot showed it did touch the ground there was no finger involved.

True, but this is how it is , we can't complain Aussies have always gotten close decisions in their favor and we have to learn to live with that.

Aussies claim a lot of catches and stumpings those ways, even their batsmen come out next day inspite of being out.

That kohli’s wicket will decide the outcome of this match.

Had Kohli stayed for another 10 overs, India would have gotten the lead. Batting 4th on this is will be very difficult. Even chasing 100 runs will be tough.

When you don't see no gap between ball and ground it means there is no finger there. Infact he was late to grab it.

Ball a few centimeters off the ground will show no gap with cameras that are used, as I said earlier these cameras can't tell **** when zoomed to max.

I think what they should do is to always give these decisions to the bowling team and stop basing it off how well the catcher celebrates which is what it has become.

If you are a cheat or a confident fella and celebrate hard, you will always claim the catch and the soft signal will be out.

Everything looks fine and dandy when we're 4 down, then we lost one wicket and it all falls down like humpty dumpty. ::J

If you ask Aus supporters , they will say finger was there. If you ask Indian supporters, they will say it bounced. For similar situation, vote will be other way around if Aus batsman was involved. That's the way it works most of the times.

After seeing the last replay, I think it probably bounced, but I am not convinced 100%. Kohli would have been a difference between India taking a lead vs conceding a lead here, so it was a huge call. Soft signal sealed the decision here.

Question is, how the umpires came to the conclusion that the soft signal became NO?

Dodgy decision to give Kohli out, 99.9% sure he got unlucky. I have seen plenty of such catches where the fingers are underneath the ball (optical illusion) but this particular one looked like a catch on the half volley, even the catcher's reaction was a dead giveaway. Probably could be the turning point of this series, feel for our captain.

Exactly, either bring in better cameras or give these in favor of the batsmen enough with the soft signal nonsense. Dharmasena misses no balls bowled a yard away from where he is standing you think he can make perfect judgment whether the catch is clean or not in slips.

Just a difference of one wicket between "Please rein in yourself Pant" to "Please go hell for leather Pant"

Ball clearly touched the ground. No question about it.

India should eat into the Aus lead and at least try to get to 300 here. Loss of Ashwin and Pandya clearly felt here. Our tail is way too long.

That was not out, very unfair to India. But India on top here, Aussies will fold out cheaply for 100 odd

Now we are going to see the actual cost of playing umesh ahead of bhuvi or jadeja. How much do you all think it will cost us?

Yadav picked up the prize wicket of Usman Khwaja who Punter thought will outscore Kohli :yk

Kohli's captaincy is aggressive, Bhuvneshwar would have been smashes by these weak Aussie batting line up. Umesh will rattle Aussie line up

The match and probably our best chance at winning a series in Australia, we will miss Jadeja dearly. This team management is utterly clueless. They also sent the blind slogger Shami ahead of Ishant who is not just a better batsman but also more suited to see off the final few minutes of a session.

Did you even watch the game? Yadav did nothing other than being in the right place right time, the ball khawaja got out to was a nothing ball, it was bumrah from one end and shami and ishant from the other who basically pinned khawaja down to 5 off 38 balls. Yadav was just the recipient of the wicket, yadav was our most costly bowler in the match, rarely building pressure. You need to take off those I love kohli glasses and watch the game objectively.

Those are expensive glasses, I wear these glasses and he score a ton every match :kohli

Handscomb raised his finger like Ponting in 2008. I believe umpires got influenced by that

Most likely. Anyway, game is still on, but India is too behind right now. Not sure why Indian didn't send Ishant to see off last over. He is good with blocking balls. Shami is a slogger.

Pant carrying on the tradition of no 7's art of the selfish not out post pandya

I hope that decision retract from the sheer quality of that knock, utterly outstanding 100. Still his 3rd best of the year though, behind 149 Edgbaston and 153 Centurion.

This game is done, Kohli was key to us being in lead or conceding a 50 run.
We have to pick ourselves up after this match and get ready for MCG on Boxing Day.

Aus should take 60-70 runs lead here. That should be enough.

Varun Aaron's quicker than yadav doesn't mean you play him here. Bhuvi won't have done anything spectacular but he won't have cost us many runs and could have scored a few handy runs and given yadav didn't do anything spectacular he was the better choice.

Yadav was preferred because of his extra pace , Indians felt that his bounce and pace would help a bit more than Bhuvi.

This is a terrible tail. India will do well to get another 20 from here.

Which i think was a very horrible decision to make given you very well know that half your batsmen are out of touch or not experienced enough and having a tail which can bat a bit is hugely important as we saw in the first Innings last game.

Give Yadav some time man. Look how India is rewarded by sticking with Ishant

You do have a point , I would think they could have played Jadeja also. In next two games , I am sure Jadeja would come into frame.

We also suffered multiple 4-0's in the process and there comes a time when you have to say a player player is never going to be good enough.

If India scores 40 more runs here and bundles Aussies out under 200, series victory coming up :kohli

This is disgusting cricket we get it you coward you want to stay not out. Pathetic pant.

:4 :six Coward is proving you wrong :133:

How he has taken first ball singles off Pacers to let yadav deal with them, a six and a four does not change that and now he left the last ball of the over so yadav again faces the pacers

Pant can't farm the strike. Yadav is not going to last long here.

May be becoz he as professional cricketer, expects more from yadav than you do

He is a youngster, give the kid a break man.Only 21 :asif I would die to have a youngsta beauty like this for my team.

So letting a no 10 play the opposition's best bowler instead of you a batsman doing it is sign of professional cricketere more like an unprofessional cricketer.

Pant is giving confidence to Yadav as he wants to score a big one and needs support. This will be at least a 50 partnership. Already 22 runs scored

Improvement from Pant. 2nd ball single here.

That should be that, hopefully bumrah gets a single and yadav has a few good slogs here.

Pant batted like an absolute clown, did his best to get India all out asap, however Yadav stood around longer than expected....
