What's new

Australia vs Pakistan | 2nd Test | Adelaide | Nov 29 - Dec 3, 2019 | Day 2 | Match Thread

As I so often say, this is usually the Danger Hour: straight after Dinner against a new ball.

Obviously this year the pitch is less grassy. But the next hour will be hard batting conditions!

I am not, although I greatly admire Indian cricket and prefer to see them win unless they are playing Pakistan or England.

that's like me except in reverse and replace Brits with south africa.

India
pakistan
then s.africa for me.

Aussies again mocking imams call for run.

Yeah, the Aussies are shameless with their sledging. They are worst when they are on top so Pakistan can expect this to continue. It wouldn't be so bad if so many in AUS media and fanbase didn't go on about how much they hate sledging. They don't seem to mind it so much that it ever looks like stopping.

Kohli knows you have to be specially 'nice' to these Aussies. That's the only way to counter it. India's test visit to Australia next year should be good now that Dumb and Dumber are back from the ban.

Wasim Akram on commentary: I have played a lot of cricket in Pakistan.

Brilliant commentator

Looking at these highlights of how Cummins has bowled so far to Masood, it seems that Shan cant play with a straight bat against anything on his pads.

Pitch looks flat. These two should dig in and bat long. It’s time Shan got a 100 and stopped wasting starts

Pakistan playing and Wasim commentating. As a viewer, you cannot have a more mediocre experience than that.

Even in Azhar’s stage of age-related decline, these conditions suit him. There is bounce, but there’s no live grass in the pitch and there is neither seam nor swing movement.

He is looking surprisingly good too.

Wasim is one of the most shameless ex cricketers we have. The guy has the nerve to criticise attitudes of fans etc whilst all he can do is embarrass himself and the country by talking crap in the commentary box. Why don’t YOU give importance to first class cricket and sign up to coach a team or something? We can only take him and the likes of Akhtar, Inzi, MoYo, YK if they make an effort to help out domestic sides and first class teams. They should have no excuse not to be coaching especially if they’re aspiring for the top job with the national team.

Batsmen looking fairly comfortable thus far is the most difficult conditions for batting?

Ramiz also commentates on the ABC Grandstand radio feed.

We're getting the Fox broadcast on BeIN. Uninspiring commentary lineup, at least 7 has Ponting.

Really miss the good old days of Channel 9. Incredible panel of commies.

Bat face closed again Azhar just keeps getting out in the same manner. Technically these batsmen are the worst

Nightwatchmen fails to do his job, needs to retire. His performances in last 2 years have been shameful.

Pitch is excellent for batting...Babar should just focus on countering today and get hang of the conditions then go hammer and tongs tomorrow

wth. wasim akthar can do what they want. it's a free world. They are not obligated to help pakistan cricket.

Only reason to watch is Bobby.

Feel like an Indian fan in the 90's :sree

Apart from Babar our batsmen can’t even play a forward defense.

The 2010 pak team was a **** poor team with the Akmals batting at 4&5 . This team would give the 2010 team a good run for its money.

Don’t know what’s worse Shan & imam or u akmal & k akmal

The Akmals at that stage were better.

Ofcourse there is a difference between facing Cummins and Bollinger

Shan looked like falling and he did.

Hazlewood worked him out in 2 overs.

Pak batsmen just allow the bowlers to settle into good line and lengths by not scoring

Shan is usually so promising but he always plays a lose shot like that and gets out. Always get out like that.

Hes just too weak against deliveries outside off stump. Doesnt get his head and feet across to cover the line of ball

Humiliation is reserved for our indian brothers.
This is a normal 'day at the office' for our team.

Have to disagree with you here.
Indian and other teams give chances to players who deserve, which is why they are doing great compared to our team and the sole reason is choosing low average batsmen over the ones toiling hard in first class and domestics.

:))

You should always expect this on an AUS tour. This would be good from the next series.

I'm also watching for Babar's batting.

What Tendulkar was to India in the 90's, is what Babar is to this team at the moment. The pressure of expectations on his shoulders is mind boggling.

We are minnows in Australia.

Pathetic performance.

Not ever going to wake up early to watch team play in Aus...

Dad's dream ain't going anywhere. Sad.

I hope Misbah has the guts to drop him.

It just proves no matter how much money you have it can’t buy you skill. I don’t mean to disregard Shans hard work but hard work isn’t enough if you don’t have the skill. Misbah wouldn’t drop one of the countries richest kids he’s already so greedy he’s occupying two positions in Pakistan cricket playing Shan is free money for him. Shan isn’t getting dropped even if he scores 4 ducks in the next 4 innings

pakistan have gone with a couple of batsmen and a solitary bowler to compete against australia.
