Amla bhai's one paced batting and inability to change gears hurts South Africa in such situations. This is why I consider his SR to be very misleading. Strikes at 90 but pretty useless when you need 7-8 RPO.
What a joke of a comment.
He always play with 90+ strike rate and others play around him. He keeps one end occupied. Rotates strike. Hits the odd boundary. And others slog when need be.

He is always banking on someone else to grab the game by the scruff of its neck and provide the killer blow. Unless de Villiers plays a blinder here, SA can't win this game even if Amla bhai bats for 50 overs.
This is why I rate him an inferior ODI batsman to Kohli, Dhoni and de Villiers. They are much more dominating and lethal.
So being among top 4 is inferior???
Okay say top 10.
So that is bad?

AMLA does not have big shots, he like to play down the ground all the time. That's why he is not very useful after 35 overs.
Younis is also like that no matter how good he is playing, as soon as he has to accelerate, he will give up wicket. You will see that in WC, but he is not as good as AMLA is at the beginning, so we are doubly screwed.
AB is from a different planet, he can play 5th day of test all day, can face red hot Johnson in test, at the same time can slog better than best in the world.

ABD is the best batsmen across all formats.
Kohli second best in Odi.
Amla second best in tests
,
Amla keeps rollin, haters keep hating and it's fun to watch them burn)
)
I would take Kohli and Dhoni over de Villiers in ODIs any day.
I would take Kohli and Dhoni over de Villiers in ODIs any day.
And if he gets out slogging they will blame him for not playing his anchor role as senior because he is the only one who can play this role in current 11 there is no kallis or smith. haters will always hate no matter what
OK, you take them and lose with them against ABD
Your bias is extreme against SA.
I had a South African girlfriend who dumped me.![]()
Only Mamoon don't like him and it's for non-cricketing reasons like his beard.
Others hating on him are just following Mamoon cuz he says Amla isn't good enough![]()
What was her name? amla was her surname?
The role of Anchors have changed in last 10 years . No team can afford players who are so one dimensional . A lot of explosive batsmen drop anchor when required .
What will happen to Amla when AB runs out of form ?
World Cup quarter final, semi final or final - 8/10 times, Kohli and Dhoni will outshine de Villiers.
Even in T20s which is not Kohli's game and bread and butter for de Villiers, who rose to the occasion in the last World T20?![]()
MoYo is my favorite Pakistani batsman and he has a beard.![]()
Big thing for Kholi and Dhoni that they are in same team. Let's see if they have same magic in AUS, I have my doubts they will be as comfortable in bounce, three knock out games!!
SA is too dependent on AB to finish. Plus they under perform under pressure, where as AUS over perform under pressure. So AUS is still favorite for WC.

So Millers De Kock and other are there just to depend on Amla and AB? Do indian team only depends on dhoni and kohli?
Come on. You've mentioned it many times.

SA depends entirely on AB . if SA has to chase a big total , he has to play an extraordinary knock ..thats a lot of pressure on him
India does depend a lot on Dhoni and Virat , but no where close to that extent . Likes of Raina , Rohit and Raina can win us matches on their won to but not as consistent as Virat and Dhoni .
The pitches look super flat. Gotta back India in a batting-heavy tournament.
South Africa have a great chance too with de Villiers in brilliant form but you can't bank on them in knockouts but lets not take their choking for granted either.
The monkey will be off their back eventually.
de Villiers aur Kohli/Dhoni me farq saaf zaahir hai.![]()
Wickets are flat but they are bouncy flat not low and slow flat. There is a difference, IND would find it hard to chase 330 on bouncy flat.
I still think SA has better chance than Asian teams in knock out stage.

Indeed. ABD can win you matches everywhere and performs eveywhere.
The other are only SC track bullies. Forgot the whitewash in NZ and performances in SA?![]()
All you mentioned are mediocre overseas barring Kohli even he can't do much in such conditions. Don't mention Dhoni, he's again toothless and we all know about Rohit. NZ can whitewash this team.
Only against AUS and SA though, they would still make mince meat of other teams who don't have pacers who can bowl at 90 mph.
Kohlis chasing ability is supernatural ..12 centuries in successful chasing. Thats saying something.
